"All in all nice little cottage for a couple and good as was pet friendly to go up Durham to visit our son up uni and take our dog to see him too. Cottage was nice a little place although i think the tv was slightly too high on wall. As we arrived there were 3 plumbing vans parked outside so had to park out side another cottage for bout hour n half till they moved their vans after going in pub at front of cottages before parking own car then outside our own cottage. "The staff were superb, friendly, helpful, welcoming, and they went out of their way to ensure that I had a pleasurable experience. I stayed in the Penthouse which didn't have a charging point for my toothbrush or shaver in the bathroom, and the coffee served at breakfast was terrible! Besides these two minor setbacks, the hotel is in a great location in the city centre opposite the train station, albeit the decor of the hotel is rather old but it does have a certain charm about it."
