Playa Es Pujols (or Platja Es Pujols) is a famous beach in Formentera with clear waters and fine sand. It’s popular among both tourists and locals, not just because of its beauty but also because of its convenient location. Find this spot close to the center of Es Pujols, a well-known vacation resort town. Despite this popularity, the beach is not as developed as other Mediterranean stretches and has preserved areas of vegetation and dunes.
This lovely Spanish beach is about 80 feet (25 meters) wide and consists of two large crescents of white sand. The water is quite shallow, with islets not far from the seashore. Groups of rocks are scattered around, stretching out into the sea and dividing the beach into smaller areas. Find a comfortable spot, enjoy the sun and take photos of the picturesque fishing boats that are usually anchored here or sailing across the horizon.
Es Pujols Beach is a great place to visit if you want to participate in watersports. It’s especially popular with windsurfers and has a specialist shop where you can rent equipment if you don’t have your own gear. Find canoes and other boats for rent as well.
When it’s time for lunch, or if you feel like taking a stroll, follow the paved promenade lined with cafés and restaurants. In the evenings, wander to the several stalls where you can buy souvenirs, clothing and jewelry to remember your days on the island.
Playa Arenals and Playa Es Pujols are the two beaches in Formentera with disabled access. Find ramps and water chairs at Es Pujols. There are also sunbeds and shades for anyone to rent. As at many other beaches in the island, you’ll probably see nude bathers. This is common in Formentera and people are usually respectful and relaxed about it.
To reach Playa Es Pujols by car, follow the highway from La Salina and park your car in the parking spaces available. Several local bus routes also pass through Es Pujols town.
