"Our stay in Cuba was made memorable with the help of the owner, Ma. Teresa and her property Manager, Mirelis. They made sure that we have what we needed. Ma. Teresa booked for us a tour guide and a convertible and Mirelis helped us book a taxi and introduced us to a money changer who came to the apartment and exchange our $ to CUP! The apartment is very accessible to plaza Vieja and PLaza San Francisco and its a walking distance to almost all of the importanat sights.. We were never hungry...

"Despite it being described as a "hostel" it is not a hostel in the UK/US fashion. It is MUCH better. You are staying with a family. Who are great! I got my own private room, with my own private shower, toilet ensuite. I had a double and single bed - as I was on my own I only used the double which was very comfortable. "We had a wonderful time at Hostal Los Villanueva. We were welcomed by friendly Elias upon arrival and met Moises who work at the Hostal. They were very helpful and friendly, we felt like home! They not only looked after us but we had insightful talks with them and learned a lot about Cuba, very interesting! Our bedroom was super clean and comfortable, with bath walk-in shower, TV with a wide range of channels, fridge and air con. We highly recommend this Hostal. ❤️"

"Staff was excellent in all respects; very responsive to requests. Rooms were clean and pleasant, if a bit small. Note that our room did not have exterior windows, and based on the layout, I'm guessing many/most of the rooms were like this. However, the rooftop lounge was very pleasant for hanging out if you wanted some fresh air and a view. The included breakfast was good. My only real criticism was that the area immediately around the hotel was not great — definitely not super clean and noisy at times. We didn't feel like it was a high-crime area or that we were in danger, but it was on the sketchy side. The hotel is a fairly short walk from Plaza Vieja, and there are a large number of restaurants within walking distance, ranging from so-so to very good."

"Had such a great experience here! The room was comfortable and the hosts were outstanding! They helped me book day trips and had an answer to every question I had. "This is a step above sharing someone’s home, but with friendly helpful staff too. Lovely to see one of these beautiful old houses restored in an interesting if dishevelled street close to the seafront. Best bed we experienced in Cuba! Good breakfast and coffee. "

"The Staff are extremely professional, hardworking, outstanding & amazing. Rafael, Fabio, Maria & another lady (sorry I don’t know her name) will turn a customer’s bad day to a good one in an instant. How can I forget Pavel (the chef). His efforts & food presentation is on another level. You are certainly going to have a fabulous day after eating his breakfasts. He invests his time to cook your meal personally for you once you arrive for breakfast and serves it hot & fresh, he doesn’t do cold buffet meals. I’m glad I met these guys, I don’t need to worry about thinking of a nice place to stay when I return to Havana. Alhabana is the easy & best choice. "

"Yuni is fablous and so helpful Breakfast was very good She had a great map for her guests Very good wifi The area is just on the edge of the tourist district so maybe not so safe for a single woman at night getting back from restaurant area but they do make a great pizza you can buy so you can stay inside. Very happy to have stayed there"
