I booked 3 days stay through Expedia. 1st day was Sunday. As soon as checked in and arrived, I told the receptionist that I will only stay for 2 days and needs a refund for a day. She told me that she already advised the owner. Monday, Sept. 16, 2024 - I reminded them again about my refund for a day and the lady told me that it’s all good and the 1 day refund will be credited back to my account. I called expedia customer service and they contacted the owner (Patrick). He said that he can only approve half of the day because he werent informed about my request (which is not my fault if the staff is too dumb not to tell the owner, and I was advised in the first place that she did informed the owner). So someone is lying or did not do the job well done. It’s been 3 weeks and they never credited any refund at all. I hope their cheap hotel can benefit from that funds that I did not use at all. Been to different countries around the world and I can say that their hotel has the worst service of all time. They don’t even provide daily toiletries. The staff aren’t friendly and can’t even greet you whenever they see you. Worst experience. I like Scotland, but the experience in this hotel makes me feel that I don’t want to visit their place anymore. For people who are planning to go to the area, please dont go to this hotel. This is my most Terrible experience and won’t ever recommend their hotel. Just go to the hotel near the city. Never to this hotel. I swear to God they are the worst

Small pub-hotel, nice location. Our room was quite small but we hadn't paid for the upgrade to a larger room, we would recommend doing this. The restaurant specialises in steak and the smell of cooking reaches the rooms even on the top floor. No carpark but the on street parking is free. Short walk to the station which also has a free carpark. Served full scottish breakfast in the morning, friendly staff.

Want to avoid the hustle and bustle of Edinburg? Stay just a bit outside to the south east as we did. The staff is quite friendly and the accommodations are clean and comfortable, while very humble and quaint. Extremely small town charm is evident everywhere.

We arrived just after 4 PM and there was no parking whatsoever, but the landlady actually moved her car for us so we could park which was very thoughtful and appreciative. The room was small with a comfy bed. The breakfast in the morning was delicious, a proper Scottish breakfast!

This property should never be advertised as a 4star. There was nothing worthy of that kind of rating. Did Expedia personally vet this property?

Stopover on way home from holiday at Linton hotel was really good. Staff great from the very start, the lady behind bar moved her car so we could park outside hotel with our luggage. Room over looking front of hotel really nice, quiet even though main thoroughfare out front, comfortable bed, en suite modern, decor in room good. Breakfast tasty. Would certainly stay again.

We arrived at the hotel limited on road parking.we checked in an paid for our room we where given directions to the room which was on the third floor with the smallest bathroom I have ever seen the light in the bathroom kept switching it’s self of and flickering as well ,the bed just fitted into the alcove with maybe a foot either side making it difficult to get in and out off. There was no headboard and view was over looking the road and railway line .we had to open the window as it was warm so it was a little noisy when the trains went by We went out early the next day came back at around 6pm and the room had not been serviced and nothing was replenished so no coffee or toiletries.the food on our first evening was ok but breakfast was very limited four cereals toast or a Scottish breakfast which had no sausage it was not very tasty and pretty unappealing we didn’t bother going down the next morning and had a lay in until the room next door woke us,breakfast was only served 7.30/8.30am .We had just done a road trip staying in 5 properties over 10 days and this Hotel was the biggest disappointment and the most expensive.

Great Hotel
We really enjoyed our night in the Linton Hotel, the staff and locals were very friendly and made us very welcome. The food was excellent. The bar was nice and well stocked. The room was OK, a bit tired but fine for us. It was around 40 minutes from Edinburgh Airport. Will stay there again, the village looked very interesting.

Traditional Pub
The member of staff in the bar on arrival was lovely. Nice little pub .Good breakfast. Dinner menu looked good. Sadly we didn’t sleep well as we were just opposite the train line and it was windy, the bedroom windows rattled and also kept us awake. My husband got up in the middle of the night and put cardboard in the gaps to help.
