Les grandes et les petits on trouvé leur place, même dans le tuk tuk auprès de madi pour faire un tour de quartier! venez y c'est génial !!"

"All was OK, especially the very good swimming pool and the really very nice well kept garden, thanks to the property's dedicated grounds keeper, but the kitchen needs to be restocked with more cooking wares and specially drinking glasses as there were none of these at all.."

"I would never wish anyone the experience we had in this placê. It should never be called lodge for backpackers or whatever.. we have never been in a such a placê like this.. despite being in backpackers places in many other countries. Even if it was for free it would be expensive. Unhygienic room and bathroom, the hygien paper nearly to finish and even dirty, toilet leaking water, the shower not heating enough to bê warm as it was Winter. "Firstly, the address advertised as well as the photographs of the accomodation are and is not the address of the actual "hostel. " There is no transportation to the actual address on Jan Smuts rd where you find out that you will be staying UPON ARRIVAL.. The cleanliness of the rooms are at best disgusting. No toilet paper is the tip of the iceberg. There are naked woman walking the halls with numerous "visitors" coming in and out. The owner\manager is impossible to get hold of. Disgraceful....

"Very safe place to stay in Sandton. It's a short walk to the shops, Nelson Mandela square and good restaurants. The pool is tiny but still good in the heat. The coffee spot in reception was great. It's great for young people but not really designed for young families. "

Amazing place with beautiful people.

"The staff is the heart of the hotel. Each one of them were amazing. To name a few, Zama, Miriam, Ivy, xolani, Jimmy, the two Thomas, Justice, Zoe, Kenny, and the rest became like family to me. The staff at Perere, at the Club House and at the Cafeteria made me feel special. The housekeeping personnel was also exceptional. I felt comfortable leaving my personal items out when they were cleaning. They didn't steal anything. The hotel has almost everything to make your enjoyable in every aspect. It has a business center, Barber shop, a grocery store and much more. The only issue I have with the hotel owners and management are the low wages they pay their staff. For such a high standard hotel and highly qualified staff that give exceptional services, the wage is not at par with the quality of services offered."

Great choice for airport stay.

"Large room, comfortable bed, good lighting. Evening buffet is excellent as is breakfast. Nice little outdoor pool. Hotel has a nice ambience. In places a little tired and dated, especially the bathroom. Was good value, and proximity to airport and free shuttle make it an excellent choice. "

Protea Hotel by Marriott Johannesburg Balalaika Sandton

"Great facility, friendly staff and delicious food. We were able to catch the hop on hop off bus just around the corner and access lots of sights that way. The hotel offers a shuttle service to Nelson Mandela Square, which was a nice bonus. Highly recommended this stay. "

Outstanding staff

"Very happy with choice of hotel for first stay in johannnesburg. Food excellent. Pool was closed for one afternoon during our stay but staff arranged and took us to a neighbouring hotel to use their’s. Reinforced how good the pool area was in our hotel. Punctual shuttle to Sandton city. Hotel also on free shuttle stop for hop on/off bus "
