Great apartment with terrific gardens and pool
Perfect apartment for a few nights stay. The apartment was clean and the gardens and pool area wonderful. We had afternoon drinks and dinner in the gardens, morning coffee under the pergola. If you are doing an island hopping trip, the boat leaves from the end of your street.

Rules & nosey Knock on the door before check out time to tell us to check out. Asked if we would stay until 11am (1 hour after check out) and that was not ok. I mean there’s a common area… how is that a big deal. We were allowed to stay on the property until 10.10am Otherwise it’s a good place, clean and all that! Facilities are good.

Let me start this review by saying that in 16 years of travelling this had been the first time ive been compelled to write one. Ive been fortunate enough to travel widely, including the US, Asia and Europe and have just spent spent 8 years living and working in New Zealand and have stayed everywhere from - mostly - budget backpackers to - very occasionally - 5* hotels. Adding in that ive worked nearky 20 years in customer serive and the hospitality industrues, I write this not to show off but to add context and hopefully point out that i feel like i have a pretty good understanding of what decent, basic hospitality should look and feel like. On with the review - The apartment itself was spacious, reasonsblbly clean with good amenities. The pool was great and needed in Dubrovnik in July, id say. Then there is Nikša. He is the apartment manager. At first I thought he was just a bit "kooky". He refused to provide more than 1 bath towel per person at a time. He whatsapped me when one of us got damp footprints from the pool, 10 metres away, to our apartment - bare in mind its 30 degrees folks. He wanted to charge me 75 kuna for apparently "destroying" one of the very precious towels for wiping spilt alcohol. Only one set of keys supplied so be sure to stick like glue to your travel buddy There was never more than one roll of toilet paper in the toilet so if you ran out.... i did point this out to Nikša but... The house rules make you feel like a naughty school kid .

It was very clean and there were many rules, we felt a little over monitored which did effect us a little. Location was great local to the shops harbour and main sites. We were distributed in the morning twice by the barking dog which appeared to belong to the owners and kept in the yard directly below our apartment. We had booked two apartments for us and our sons and although they were adjoining the door was locked and we were told we could not use it!! Could not understand this. The basics such as shampoo and shower gel were not provided. The satalite TV did not work properly with not that many channels in English or film channels There is also an extra cleaning charge of 20 euros per room. Most of the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Charged twice for booking
To start, the apartment and pool area were really nice. However, the owners use an external booking company who charge the full amount from your card, then the owners ask for cash on arrival and advise the amount charged to your card will be refunded. Not great being charged twice! Secondly the owners are welcoming, but overbearing. It didn’t feel like a relaxing stay. There are also a lot of rules to abide by (listed everywhere you look!). The cleaners moved a few of our personal belongings too. The local area is okay - quite far out from the old town (approx. 15 euro taxi each way). Overall, our stay was okay.

Lovely apartment
We had a lovely 3 night stay at Apartments Aura in September 2018. The owners were extremely friendly and welcoming and you could tell they truly appreciated us staying with them. The room was comfortable and clean and the pool area was lovely, quiet and sunny and we had it to ourselves every time we wanted to use it. The parking was slightly difficult to find but we stopped nearby and went to the property where the owners gave us very easy to follow instructions to find it. The apartment is not far from the harbour where the cruise ships come in which has its own shops and restaurants and the old town was around a 30 minute walk away. The walk takes you along a main road over a big hill but the local buses were quick, cheap and easy to use so we tended to use these as recommended by the owner. Many tourists do the same.

Rude nasty place
I would strongly recommend to stay away from these place, nasty and ignorant people. We were a large family with kids.When we booked the hotel, there were no exceptions for kids. We were simply thrown of this place! Had to look for other place to stay on a such a short period of time. Even check in wasn’t welcoming. While we gave an approximate time of arrival, instead of welcoming, we were asked why did we arrive so early.(10 min earlier)

All in good condition, but the customer service wasn't the friendliest. Notes around the room and other places, telling the guests what not to do, and the associated 'fines'. We just didn't feel welcome, from the arrival through our stay. The place was comfortable, but it did not make up for the ambiance.

We had to wait outside on the street because our room was not ready and because we were 20 min earlier.. she wouldn't let us at least sit inside with all our luggage. Room was ok and clean, bathroom was nice, bed not so comfy. P.s. Clean up all your dishes before leaving and read the house rules.

Very bad experience, this place run by an agent.
Hidden, hard to find ... However agent helped us after.. When we got there .. No one opens a door. Called again ,,, won,t pick up his phone ' a very nice neighbors called agent from his phone, got picked up and told someone is coming . After half an hour wait a very nice lady came in and took care of us. Imagine if you are coming in dark .... Good luck. Expedia should black list this place . Place is nice, neat and clean and the lady is an excellent.

Room was extremely dated and not very well equipped. The staff were nice but there were a lot of rules about what residents could and could not do - completely appreciate issues like not being noisy after hours, but rules such as not being able to use towels at the pool seemed strange, especially given the terrible state the towels were in anyway. The pool was the redeeming feature, it was in good condition though small. Would not return or recommend, as didnt think the room was even cheap enough to be deemed Budget accommodation (we also stayed at a similarly priced hotel in Dubrovnik old town, which was hugely better).

The place has a nice pool and patio area that is relaxing. The room was spacious and had a full kitchenette. The downside is that the wifi was essentially unusable, especially in the evenings. This place also would not hold our bags after check-out which was a minor inconvenience.

There is no on-site staff, so you need to pick a specific arrival time; we arrived 15 minutes early and had to wait 30 minutes to access our room. The room was very nice. Location is OK, near the bus line.
