"The Mingood is an older style budget hotel that we have visited several times over the years and it still has many plus points over the newer “boutique” renovations in Penang. It’s certainly not fancy but the rooms are spacious, baths now replaced by showers, good WiFi and a/c, safes and a simple breakfast are all provided for a fair price. The staff are also very friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about their city."

"Overall 5 stars for value. This is a very spartan hotel, but we felt safe staying here and for the price I can't complain. Air conditioning worked great. Two elevators worked great. They made up the room every day. There were no hand towels or wash cloths, only bath towels. There was no hand soap, only a dispenser of soap in the shower. The sink drain made a strange glugging noise. There was only one small ceiling light for the whole room. If a few more amenities were provided for the rooms, it...
