"Hotel Ibis is convenient for those travelling to Saumur by train-- property is literally right across street from station. Friendly service ( I can speak a bit of French; they could speak some English so all good for check-in, etc! Also.one staffer who was fully bilingual.). Good breakfast in pleasant dining area. Also a cozy bar and in nice weather a courtyard. There is a v.good Italian restaurant next door, and cafe 2 blocks away. You will want to go into Saumur Centre-- a 15 minute walk over...

"Absolutely spectacular. We really enjoyed our time at Chateau de Candes. Bertrand and Sam went out of their way to ensure that our stay was as comfortable as possible. Running this place is not easy but the family are doing their absolute best as custodians. They are fully dedicated and committed to making Chateau de Candes a success. Merci Bertrand et Sam. "The room was a very small box room in the attic. Had an en-suite. Air con worked when it wanted. Could not open window as it opened over the bed. Breakfast was 8.50€ per person. You were given a small basket with one croissant each,one pain du chocolate each and some very hard bread. Plus the other continental breakfast fare. Did not feel it was worth it. Been in other budget hotels and they were mych better"

"This is the second time we have stayed and it was just as remembered. It is a bit quirky but our room perfect for us and the dog plus being immaculately clean. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. We will be back."

"This is an excellent choice for seeing Saumur. It is in an old building with a lot of character. My room was large, with wooden beamed ceiling, tall windows that opened, and a limestone fireplace I wish I had in my home. Ensuite had shower and had plenty of space. Bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly and quite helpful. The hotel is part of a very large restaurant with good food and good service. "This was a lovely, relaxed hotel with lots to do for the whole family. Tennis, golf, driving range, mini golf, volleyball etc and even a mini farm, horse riding and games room. Events such as walks and an outdoor cinema. Great breakfast with local produce, comfortable beds and spacious rooms. My son left his sunglasses behind and they were also kind enough to send them home to us!! "
