"The property is nice looking. But it’s more about the looks than the value with this resort. The decor leads you to believe you are in a 5 star hotel, but the air con in the room is tiny, the room was never cold. The all inclusive buffet has lots of options however the taste is lacking. "The good: The lady at the front desk was very nice Needs improvement: Room and property were run down and a bit dirty, air conditioner was not powerful enough to actually cool the room, all four pools were green with algae, food was quite bad and there were few dining options (no room service, very limited ability to eat outside of the buffet)"

"We have been in Madagascar 3 weeks and Tropical Paradise Hotel is still our favorite hotel. It is a short tuk tuk ride from town and tuk tuks wait at the road. The staff is amazing, the restaurant is good and the rooms are comfortable except the bed. The only negative we have is that the mattress was thin and after 5 nights it got pretty uncomfortable. I wish I had asked the staff to change it though, because I bet they would have."

"Staff were amazing, really hospitable. Nothing too much trouble! Marcello ( Resort Manager) went above and beyond. Always about. Very personable. Gave his personal number when we got stuck in Antananarivo, calming and supportive. Highly recommend the Excursion team. Despite language barrier, they really tried to make sure we got what we wanted."

"It was super noisy (loudest music I ever experienced) by the nearby night clubs till 2:30am, with no sleep and waking up early to do excursion. I was super tired due to lack of sleep that I had to cut my paid tour activities. "

Facts, Can you handle the Truth

"The property and staff were friendly and helpful. The gentleman at reception was wonderful. It was awkward as soon as I checked in as the owner requested I cancel the booking and pay directly to the property due to Hotels.com/Expedia failure to pay for multiple guests over the previous month's. The option was unavailable as Hotel.com policy for cancellation was fully nonrefundable. This means I'd have to pay twice if I cancelled. The stay further detoriated upon check out as I was falsely accused of not paying for the total mini bar use. I had paid for everything drink I had from the mini bar. Yet due to a clerical error an additional 2 cans of beer were apparently not paid for after the mini bar had been restocked. As I had filled the fridge with my own ciders and purchased goods, No cans of beer were placed in the fridge only 4 bottles. I was subsequently treated as thief and spoke to in a degrading manner by the owner who threatened and also appeared to have called the police to have me jailed in his country. I will never use Hotel.com or Expedia again. Google review of 1 Star coming for the organisation! Deal with it!"

"Manga Soa Lodge is an absolute paradise on earth! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the beauty and eco-friendliness of this magical place. 🌿✨ The lodge is not only breathtakingly romantic but also managed to perfection by Oceana and Roman, who are such gracious and attentive hosts. The staff, including Jerome and Ella, were warm, welcoming, and always ready to help, while our airport shuttle driver made sure our journey to the lodge was seamless. Oceana and Roman went above and beyond in coordinating excellent tours for us—just be sure to bring Euros in cash for these adventures! The food at the resort was a culinary masterpiece, thanks to the incredible chef. Every meal was a delight and added to the unforgettable experience. If you’re seeking adventure, relaxation, and an eco-friendly getaway, Manga Soa Lodge is your destination. Truly an unforgettable stay in paradise!"

"The resort was beautiful. The beach, the pool were fantastic and the rooms were good. They offered some good excursions and the kids club team were great with our daughter. On the negative side, Andilana Beach Resort targets a very specific demographic, Italians. This should have been highlighted as everything was in Italian, including all the entertainment, which limited our enjoyment. The language barrier was also a bit of a challenge, as we spoke very little Italian and most of the staff spoke limited English. The food was also specific to the demographic with more pasta and pizza on offer than we could handle. There were a few other options, but the quality was average. The resort could benefit from incorporating more local cuisine more regularly. We did get local options on the excursions, which was really good. Overall, the resort was great, the staff were great, but we struggled with the fact that everything was in Italian, which we did not expect from a French speaking territory."

"I must admit that I was a little concerned that staying at a resort so isolated we might be “ prisoner “ to over priced food and drinks. My fears could not be further from the truth. The food and drink here is very reasonably priced, and very good. The chef comes to you, yes he comes and finds you, then you order your meal, and arrange the time you would like to eat and you sit down, the meal arrives. Everything here is done with the guest in mind. The day trips offered cover everything you would want to see, the resort has its own boat, so it’s easy to arrange whatever you would like to do. Phillip is always available to answer your questions. He’s been doing this a long time, there are loads of staff on the property. If you would like to spoil yourself in an unspoiled paradise book book book"
