The museum experience begins within the large octagonal museum building on the quayside. At the dock, walk along the gangway and onto the main deck of the historic RRS Discovery. The ship has been meticulously restored to its original state. Marvel at the ship’s construction and its intricate rigging system. Descend into the lower decks to find out how the explorers lived during their voyage.
See real artifacts from the time, including Captain Scott’s rifle and pipe. Learn about the games the shipmates played to pass the time or inspect some of their scientific findings, including varieties of sea fauna.
