"Our Christmas stay at the Welcombe Hotel was a nice break. The mansion is stunning, set in 157 acres of beautiful grounds, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot deer roaming around. The spa was good to have—the indoor pool, Swedish sauna, and outdoor vitality pool made for a nice way to unwind, and the thermal rooms were a nice touch. We had an issue with feather duvets and asked to be changed but were told that no one in housekeeping they had gone home. Someone did change it though whilst we were out. "Room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Really like the bath and shower set -up (you'll know what I mean when you see it). Breakfast was tasty and staff well organised. Staff, generally, very polite. We had to wait 40 minutes for our room to be ready even though we arrived at 15:00. Rooms are not well sign-posted and require a bit of finding. Leisure centre, particularly the pool, requires some up-grading. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would go back, which says a lot."
