"The stay was good overall. The property is very beautiful and well maintained. The villas are huge and well appointed. Very nice place to stay. We enjoyed it very much. However there were some major problems which will prevent us from coming back here. We had several issues, some of which were addressed and some were not. You are in the jungle, so there are ants. Pretty much anything on the counter (including the nightly treat they leave) are infested with ants in about 5 minutes. Told them...

"The Sandbar was a great location the night before our flight out. It's close to the airport, great beaches, and the chocolate factory. The room itself was quiet and relaxing right near the beach and had a comfy bed and warm shower with good water pressure. Our host, Christine, was fantastic! She was friendly, helpful, and even let us check out late so we could go to the beach and come back to shower before our flight. We would definitely stay here again!"

This is in an idyllic forest setting. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is fun and tasty. There is parking outside and across the road. WiFi is great. It's the opposite of quiet but the noises are rainforest sounds and cattle, which is restful in a different way. The rooms are pretty basic and a little tired but have everything you need. It's convenient for the airport and river but there is no hiking near to the property.
