"This place was amazing from the second we arrived. Staff person checking us in was polite, accommodating and made you feel like you were best friends. Because it’s a smaller hotel, we got to know all of the staff and they couldn’t have been nicer people! On site parking was easy. Location was quiet except for some road noise. Walking to Playa Samara beach was convenient and took less than 10 minutes down a dirt road. Room was large with a separate foyer area that had a sink and mini fridge. Pool is nice. Breakfast was good as were the drinks. We did not eat lunch or dinner so can’t comment on that. Three minute drive to Playa Carrillo - which is an amazing beach. Seven minute drive to downtown Samara. Nothing negative to say about this place - check it out!"

"This property is peaceful and calming, and there is an excellent restaurant beside it. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic, no frills, (no hair dryer, or shampoo for example) but we had a fan, and it was clean and comfortable. The pool and was nice, and the beach area was lovely. Pretty gardens. We were very happy!"

"We had an amazing stay at Lagarta Lodge.It is really a five star boutique hotel. The location is perfect next to a wildlife preserve and the views are gorgeous of the ocean and the preserve. Everyone on staff is so friendly and very attentive. They are what makes it a great hotel. The room and terrace were quite large and had a beautiful view. There are two lovely Infiniti pools and the main restaurant and rooftop sunset bar and restaurant were open air with great servers. We also visited the spa for a deep tissue couples massage and it was one of the best ever. We will definitely visit again!!"

"We have gone to quite a few all inclusive hotels and this was by far one of best ones. This place was absolutely incredible! Really well kept, super clear. The staff was amazing, very accommodating, the food at every one of restaurants was really good. We also booked massages at their spa, by far one of the best massages we’ve ever had! We went to the spa on our last day and we wished we had gone earlier so that we could have gone back a second time. We did the sunset excursion which was super fun. I cannot say enough good things about this resort, we cannot wait to go back and we will. "

"Excellent place! We were absolutely delighted to find this safe, well-appointed, beautifully-decorated room after a long days’ drive. Self check-in, after hours, was easy, and we found the lovely grounds and pool to be an oasis. We made our own simple dinner and had everything we needed to prepare it. Absolutely loved our stay here, and wish it were longer! We’ll be back! 💖"

"Our second visit to this hotel. It’s beautiful. Staff are friendly and helpful. Situated as close to the beach as possible in Nosara. You walk right out of the hotel to the path to the beach. A couple minor things on this trip. They did charge an extra $45 a night because we brought our son (making 3 of us) even though the suite we booked sleeps 4. So that added an extra $250 onto our cost. The other minor issue is the cost of beer at the restaurant. $8 a bottle for a domestic lager and $14 for a domestic IPA. In town those are like $2.50 and $4 respectively. We went to the local market and bought 6-packs for $12. On the other hand the cocktails are great and cost about what you would expect at an upscale bar. Otherwise the place is the best combination of location, comfort, and cost in Nosara. We will definitely be back."
