Perun Lodge Hotel
2/5 Poor
"This is the worst “4-star” hotel I’ve ever been to. I’ve been to 2-star and 3-star places which put it to shame.
It seems like no maintenance has been done in over 10 years; probably far longer.
The doors to some rooms don’t close properly (can be seen from the corridors) and the bathroom door in our room was so terribly hung / warped it could not be locked.
There was water damage to the kitchen area and in the bathroom. Our towel rail or something near it was leaking water the entire stay.
The bedside lamp was hanging from the wall and was probably an electrical hazard had it been plugged in.
The previous guest’s items had been left in the fridge and there was thick layers of dust and motes under the bed and wardrobe.
The robes provided were stained, tattered, and with the cord loops torn open. One of them only had half a cord. This was the case with all the replacements provided too.
The breakfast selection consisted of a range of cold scrambled eggs, cold bacon, and other foods which should be hot not being so. The rolls and croissants were stale on day one and got worse each morning - I would guess they same ones put out day after day.
None of the spa showers had soap in the dispensers and parts of the showers (such as the temperature lever on one) were broken off.
At night, the hotel was far too hot. We had the balcony door open every night - not ideal for a ground floor room.
There were some positives, but many, many negatives."
