Very nice hotel. Quiet, clean and easy access to restaurants and shopping (30-100 rps auto rickshaw ride to near-by shopping areas). 45-min taxi ride from airport.
Overall my expectations regarding the quality of rooms, cleanness, food are in line with what I have paid. The staff is helpful. The breakfast was ok, a combination of Indian and European dishes, masala omlete was very good.
The rooms were clean, bed linen and bath towels of decent quality. Bathroom itself was also clean, no signs of rust or anything unpleasant.
When I booked this hotel I read reviews saying that the location was good to explore Delhi. I would disagree with this statement as the hotel is far away from everything and besides is located, although, in a back street, but close to a very noisy market area. I could not sleep without earplugs. I spoke with one of the local residents later one and this person also said that the area was not good to explore the city.
Charming gem of a hotel with very helpful and courteous staff. Good decor at reception and in room. Nice furniture with desk, chair, fitted wardrobe, small settee and coffee table. Luggage storage area.
Booked through Expedia and got a good deal reasonaly priced Premium Room which included a reasonable buffet breakfast and airport transfer. The flight was delayed by an hour. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised to find that the driver was still waiting for us. Whilst it was nice to take advantage of the airport transfer the car was a little on the small side but we managed to get our luggage in. The driver was very nice and courteous.
The premium room was very nice with good facilities. Room and bathroom were clean with daily linen changes. Pleasant decor with flat screen tv, mini bar, hairdryer. Complimentary tea/coffee making facilities in room. Extraordinary large bed which was very comfortable. Was a quiet room on the top floor which had a window with interesting views of the surrounding rooftops.
Location quite central close to Karol Bagh shopping/market areas.
Area a bit on the run down side but appears to be undergoing a lot of refurbishment.
Would recommend this hotel for travellers and would certainly return again.
Definitely recommend Expedia and would use this site again.
Typical 2/3 star budget hotel. Friendly & helpful staff. Food prices in restaurant very reasonable. Very slow Wi-Fi in hotel. Situated in an awful area but it is typical in India. Clean room + toiletries with flat screen TV.
Pros:
-The breakfast was quite good. It had both contenental and Indian choices.
-The free (one-way) airport shuttle was quite good -- they had already figured out that my flight was two hours late and adjusted accordingly. The return trip was not expensive.
Cons:
-The neighborhood was quite depressing and dirty. Crowded. The web photos do not give you a picture of the surrounding (now I know why).
-There are hot and cold water taps. But no hot water.
-Noisy like hell. Right outside the room there was a pump making loud noise through the night and I could not get any sleep!
-Wi-fi did not work all night. Finally I called a person to fix. He tried the wireless for a long time and finally pulled a long ethernet cable for me. It was time to go by then.
The hotel quality is good at their price level. The constant honking from the street can be a little bothersome, but it doesn't last through the night nor it starts early. The in-room wifi worked ok, with the signal on the low side. Breakfast was good, with not too much variety. The staff is very friendly and willing to help their customers.
Ashok Bhagirath Stay; can't wait to go back, excellent value
Excellent place, excellent staff, good food, clean and modern property with all amenities. The hotel was clean, everything was there as expected, rooms were good size with all amenities and staff was very courteous and responsive. The food in the breakfast was fresh and tasty with good selection. I would stay here again without any hesitation. Kudos for Hotel Clark and its staff. Its very convenient to all shopping and Metro station.
Keep up the good work guys,
This hotel is situated in downtown of Karol Baug and surrounded with crowded streets. The whole area is occupied with local vendors and street sellers. Very had to find parking spot, we were having hard time to park our van as everywhere construction going on the street.
Very nice hotel in the quaint Karol Bagh area of New Delhi. Rooms were clean, hot water and complimentary Internet access available. The air conditioner remote was a bit quirky. We used the taxi arranged by reception to visit near by tourist places. The food in the restaurant was pretty good. All the staff members were courteous and friendly. The lobby manager and the restaurant staff went out of their way to pack us the complimentary breakfast as we were going to Agra for a day trip very early in the morning. There was definitely some noise due to the traffic (people honk incessantly and needlessly in India) and construction activity. But as we were out during the day time and really tired when we returned at night, falling asleep was no problem. I was travelling with family and this is certainly the hotel we would want to stay in the next time we visit Delhi.
My wife and I stayed there for 9 days. The price was very reasonable. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Although the hotel and the neighborhood were undergoing renovation, the rooms were clean and we experience only few minor interruptions. The restaurant on the top floor offers good Indian food and a nice view. The neighborhood is very lively and bustling with commercial activity. The hotel is located about 10 minute walk from Delhi metro. I would definitely recommend this hotel - good value for the money.
hi,
the hotel is pretty decent for the price you are paying,i took a standard room and i would say everything was quite good and clean, the hotel is in a busy location but the surronding is rich, indian restuarants, shopping for garments, shoes etc.very very close to metro easy for moving in the heard of the Delhi city and back to the hotel.
the only issue i could see was that the water supply was not that consistent but it was not bad eithor.
Staff is very helpful and attentive.
Room condition is very clean, wooden flooring,Well mainated AC,LCD screen etc

Disliked: Cleanliness
Hotel Clark International, Karol Bagh
Standard rooms (4) are awful, the windows open into a chimney and the airconditioning does not work. It feels like sleeping in a coffin. We changed our room at 3am night as it just wouldn't cool down. Staff were helpful once we complained. Lifts were not working. Due to the works going on in Delhi the roads were dug up closing vehicle access to the hotel.
Please do not offer Standard Rooms on your site at this hotel and others in Delhi as they don't have windows - they are selling broom cupboards as rooms.
Was apprehensive after reading so many negative reviews but was extremelt satisfied.
Located in a very noisy /crowded neighbourhood but this gives lots of time to explore the market area.
One day we didn't get hoy water , a little construction on our floor
only if the price is right/ not a nice area at night. gooe chinese restaurant in the next corner. they are trying and the room is clean. a hot water problem. no hot water in the evening.
Free pick up was nowhere to be seen & there was no apology either on arrival at the hotel. The room itself was very small for the price we paid & smelled pretty bad.
The receptionists were consistently rude. They were not able to contact reliable taxi service. We missed a dinner engagement with friends because they were unable to get a taxi for us, and we gave them an hour to make this arrangement. The free internet was not working most of the time while we were there. The elevator was out of service during our stay. Even the restaurant in the hotel had to be moved while we were there because of the poor condition that it was in. The neighborhood is also not ideal for tourists, and there were so many shady tourist companies trying to make profit from new arrivals. The hotel allowed these companies to come into the hotel, and it was extremely uncomfortable them harassing us while trying to get breakfast after just waking up every morning. The hotel really should not let them come in. We felt bad for the non-managerial staff because they did work very hard and nice, but I feel that the managers/front desk were very unwelcoming and made our stay in Delhi very unpleasant. We returned to Delhi before leaving India, and we made sure that we did not stay at this hotel.

Hotel Clark - good if you chase up reception
We insisted on a higher level room after reading the reviews about street noise. We stayed on the 3rd and 4th floor and both times had no issue with street noise (the AC is very loud but is a necessary evil). The only complaint about the room was the stench each time we entered (once the AC got going it disappeared), smelt like sewage.
The second time we stayed there we were on the 3rd floor where the smell of the kitchen (curry) came through the air con.
One complaint is that even though I booked my 5am airport transfer the night before with reception and confirmed again that night, at 5am the morning lobby manager had gotten the rooms mixed up and had not ordered one for me so he was scrambling around for half an hour trying to arrange one, which almost made me late for my flight.
Breakfasts are good and reception is usually helpful.
The hotel is not bad for being a 3 star. The problem is the surroundings. Big public works are going on in Delhi this year: they are building 2 new subway lines, one highroad and new footpaths everywhere, so there are road yards everywhere; they dig the earth and put it on the pavement of the roads, so all the vehicles passing by lift dust in the air and so Delhi is covered by a huge cloud of dust, in the city center like in the suburbs, and there is rubbish everywhere too.
The conclusion:
OK for backpacker = doesn´t care much about comfort.
NOT OK for other people on holiday in India= Low standard hotell and room not very clean.
---
This hotel is of my opinion equal to a low standard guesthouse in europe. It´s not a 3 star hotell.
From a 3 star hotel i expected that everything in the room works, and that room is clean
The positive side:
1) The people in the reception where VERY service oriented.
2) Lot of shopping possibilities in the area, but not very tourist friendly.

Hotel Clark International - look elsewhere.
The hotel staff was rude and unhelpful. When I asked about arranging for a taxi to CP just around the corner (which was one of the reasons why I chose this location in the first place), they gave me one price only to change it to a beyond-exorbitant amount. The included breakfast looked as though it had been sitting around for quite awhile, an invitation to gastritis. Also, as a woman traveling alone I felt particularly unsafe and uncomfortable while staying at this hotel, and I've stayed in some shady places before. The only redeeming quality I can think of is that the room was relatively clean. Of course, you can find clean rooms for half the price in the same neighborhood. Please consider looking elsewhere.
The hotel was very comfortable.
All the facilities mentioned were available.
Just make sure you ask for something you want.
The surroundings is a little crowded and noisy, but will not disturb you in the rooms.
I would prefer to come back again.
