Reason being, that there is no oven and the BBQ area is situated in the centre of other u it’s, so no privacy for anyone and impractical. Close enough to the seaside that you can walk, great fynbos area in front of unit. Very clean and a comfortable bed. Strong and hot water in shower. "

"It was private and intimate. I'm American and came to South Africa to get married to my South African fiance. We got married yesterday and I wanted the perfect honeymoon suite. Two weeks ago I started looking for the perfect honeymoon suite to surprise my new wife but I dont know anything about locations in South Africa. lol. I wanted beachfront view, dog friendly, and a hot tub. So I just googled those filter options. I looked all day but couldnt find anything. The next day I found Kennedy...

"The photos don’t really do this apartment justice , it’s enormous and the views are just WOW. Unfortunately we didn’t see any whales from the window . They didn’t want to make a show ! You could look out to see and watch the crashing waves for ages though . Beds were super comfy and huge . Car was parked in a single garage so safe . We made a fire as no heating in lounge and it was very cold . Our only negative was the lack of wifi which I reported when we arrived. Never got fixed so had to buy...

"Travelling the Garden Route from PE to Cape Town. Travelling as a couple we wanted accommodation that we make full use of all the facilities, and catch up on our washing. We had a sat nav so the place was easy to find. Lots of things to do nearby if the whales are not about, wine tours. Shark Cage diving. The owner even helped us book the Cape Canopy Tours near Cape Town, excellent value and more scary than shark cage diving. The owner Gill, is a lovely lady and helps you out with anything...

"The marketing information visible on website is not accurate at all. Upon our arrival in Franskraal it became immediately obvious so we spoke to the host and we agreed that there would be no cost to us if we decided to leave. We left within an hour feeling very disappointed"

"The house was run down, it smelled of damp with black mould growing on curtains, holes in walls where door handles had punctured them light firings removed with electrical connectors exposed no means of heating bi-fold doors opened by the strong winds we did not stay and left the property to find alternative accommodation "

"We were 3 weeks ol the Garden Route and this was definitely the best stay. Really lovely and caring hosts, great rooms with amazing sea views, a suberb breakfast and also their dinner tip was really great (and you can even walk there safely at night!) Will definitely come back during whale season (when they whales are supposed to be directly in front of your room!)"

"Whale Rock Lodge is a lovely place. Very much a home away from home. Staff welcoming and efficient. We had a room in The Villa; a separate building to main house with it's own entrance and car park but only 30 steps to main building. The room and bathroom were large with fridge & tea/coffee making facilities. Good sized balcony with comfortable seating. The 2 pools - larger at main house and one at villa had plenty of sunbeams and other seating. Pleasant sitting rooms in both buildings. Excellent freshly cooked breakfast or buffet style continental. Cliff walk into town takes approx 40 minutes but too far out of town to walk for dinner. No Ubers and only a limited number of taxis in Hermanus."

"This is in the top 3 of the best value for money accommodation we've ever stayed in! Why? The location, the welcome, the room, the SUPERB breakfast, the local knowledge and advice, the electric bikes we hired. And in particular the way hosts Stefan and Nikki interacted with us and the other guests, somehow bringing us all together which enhanced the stay even more.We made some great contacts with people who had stayed at Penguino previously .... which speaks volumes in itself. Hermanus is a lovely, chilled-out place and when we go back we will be staying here again."
