Disappointing compared with previous stays
This is our fourth time staying at Italian Hill 1. It has to be said it is still a beautiful location and a lovely cottage. Some of the small things that have made it special in the past are now gone. The welcome pack is now muesli and some packets of sugar. In the past it used to be eggs bacon, a couple of bottle of wine, juice and local bread. It's also of note that the listed barbecue no longer is there. This makes cooking difficult as there are only two small burners inside the cottage (there are some spectacular restaurants nearby though :-) The current policy of not allowing dogs would be something that would prevent us from coming back. The owners have also now adopted the more common policy of providing very small amounts of firewood where it used to be really generous. You need to expect to have to go and buy more wood unless only burning for one night. It would only take a small amount of effort to make this Cottage a five star review again.
