"Heaven in Sri Lanka. The space is just magical. You'll feel like you're in a private luxury jungle with an incredible view and pool. "The property never got our reservation, so showed up and no one was there. This, however, didn't appear to be Amara's fault. Ana was very apologetic and tried to make the most of it. Property is nice though, but it's more suited for a full rent out than just a couple looking for a get away."

"The hotel has a great view and its garden is connected to the beach. Friendly owner offered nice breakfast everyday. The owner’s friend comes to offer yoga, massage and diving. problem is the narrow and busy street next to it, making the place too noisy to have a relaxing sleep. "

"The property is located in a well kept garden next to a small but beautiful beach. Rooms are well kept and relaxing. The staff are fantastic and always willing to accommodate requests. Food was excellent, particularly the Sri Lankan breakfast. The menu has increased and has a great selection of Western and Asian dishes but is quite expensive."

"We have just returned from a two week stay at this little paradise and can honestly say we loved every second. The villa has everything that you could need, it is safe, well designed, comfortable and clean with a gorgeous outside area that backs directly onto an unspoilt quiet part of the beach. "We loved Dream Villa! It is a beautiful building right in the middle of Galle- you cannot ask for a better location! The room was great, big comfy bed and good a/c. Service was great (we checked in with a young guy who did not speak a lot of English but he was so nice and helpful) and the breakfast was delicious. Thank you Dream Villa!"

"We stayed at this hotel for 8 nights. It was our first experience at Sri Lanka. The location of Villa Tara at Hikkaduwa city is optimal - in jungle forest but in ten minutes from the beach also. Property is in fine condition and professionally managed. You will be provided with a top quality guest service. "Phenomenal. Stayed in a lot of top class hotels and this is easily one of the best ever. Amazing rooms staff very nice, pool super and grounds nice too. Hotel breakfast and dinner incredible too. Good variety and catered well for vegetarian (one of the most options I've seen for veggie food). Would come back just to stay in this hotel. Only marginal negative was WiFi was surprisingly patchy and quite slow. Would often disconnect."

Tired, basic hotel that could do with a refresh

"It's an old hotel. 50 yrs. So it's tired and needs a refurbish. Rooms are OK, but bathroom leaks water from the shower leaving puddles of water in the bathroom. Could smell urine in room 205 when using the shower so probably linked to the drainage system. Pool needs redone as several broken tiles and there were 3 people I saw who cut themselves including a member of staff and my daughter. Restaurant and bar is very good, great choice and food options are lovely. Staff are excellent and very friendly. Opposite a supermarket which is handy. So overall a really nice hotel, pretty basic but has great potential with a bit of investment. "

"It is a nice peaceful resort. The staff especially in the resurant and pool side was so nice and friendly. The main drawback with this resort is it's not a good place during rainy season as it's on the bank of estuary. As the river water comes with force during rainy season the sea is muddy and cannot swim or play in the sea. The next thing is that the staff in the reception have no answer for anything you ask. If you ask what activities you have nearby they will tell you to Google. Tuk tuk is available if you walk to the main road, but they don't even help calling for one. So unless ypu have everything sorted it's better not to stay there as for all activities you have to go to either Mirissa or Weligama. If you are just coming to relax then it's a nice place. Food was not that great."
