"Great little Boutique hotel. Outside the walls of the old city but an easy and short walk into town.Street parking is plentiful. Hotel is clean, upgraded, with quirky decorating that is tasteful. Rooms are small but well appointed. Staff was extremely nice, professional and accommodating . Be aware no elevator. Loved San Quirico d’Orcia. Smaller mountaintop town, highly walkable , not overrun by tourists but the same charm, history and leisure options as the larger towns in Tuscany."

"What an adorable and beautiful place! It provided the perfect ambience for relaxing and recharging after a 4 week long trip around Tuscany. The place is comfortable, peaceful and the breakfast is magnificent! Everybody we interacted with was kind, sweet and welcoming. Excellent location for exploring the Val D'Orcia. "This is the most horrible property we have ever experienced. This place should be closed down and inspected by authorities. There was no one on the property to check us in, we never received any codes for our rooms, no communication was forwarded to us prior to check in, got locked in once we entered the gate as we did not have a code to get out. "We loved our stay at hotel dei Capitani, would highly recommend. Montalcino is famous for truffles, wild boar, wine, and beautiful views, especially from this hotel. It is on top of a mountain and in the country so you can expect to see bugs in your room like spiders, mosquitos, stink bugs, but they are mostly all harmless and more of a nuisance than anything. When looking for food to eat I recommend “Il Moro SNC di pellegrini Alessandro”, extremely clean kitchen, family run, delicious homemade local food. Don’t trust any of the restaurants hours posted on their websites, the city pretty much closes down once it’s past 8:30 you’ll have a hard time getting food anywhere. Also, the roads are very tight so if you are driving a car I recommend something small. Walking on the walls of the castle was another great highlight of the trip. If you want to visit any wineries make reservations ahead of time. Again, can’t recommend it enough! And thanks to the hotel staff for being so welcoming, hospitable and helpful with recommendations. We loved the whole experience. "

"Beautiful property. Staff especially Stefano, Nelson, Klada were amazing. Anna was always present and accommodating. Brunello wine was excellent! Fresh farm grown breakfast and dinner were fantastic!! Stunning views in every direction. Room was well furnished, quiet and comfortable. Beautiful pool. "
