"Our flight was cancelled and we could not rebook for another two days. This was an excellent stay and a great place to be stranded. Lovely breakfast and close to the beach. I was charmed by the old hacienda feel of the building. There are only five rooms, so it felt very uncrowded. "

"Amazing property. My friend and I went for six days. The grounds are beautiful and there are two pools. You can walk everywhere even if you want to go to the main town. Bring some good walking shoes/sandals though if you do that. Close to La Ropa and I recommend Jungle Pizza which is around the corner for a unique pizza experience in Mexico. Would definitely stay again!"

"We visited the Thompson after our wedding in Mexico City. The hotel is incredible. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The beach cannot be beat. The staff is so hospitable and kind. Even the restaurants are wonderful. We will definitely be back and cannot recommend this place enough!"

Everyone here was great but the pool staff of David, Eloy, Elvis, and Alfredo are beyond exceptional and the main reason we want to go back. "My stay at Cala de Mar in Ixtapa was truly fantastic. The room was stunning, featuring a private jacuzzi with breathtaking views, creating the perfect spot to unwind. The hotel was impeccably clean, and the staff was warm and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. While the hotel is exceptional, a few improvements could elevate it further. First, gratuities are already included, but this isn’t clearly communicated, which can cause confusion. More transparency would enhance the experience. Second, while the food was decent, a more skilled chef would bring the dining to the same high standard as the rest of the hotel. Additionally, the Seafood Market restaurant’s reservation system needs improvement—despite requiring reservations, my table was given away to other guests. Another issue was room service, which often took up to an hour—a long wait for a luxury hotel. Improving efficiency here would be a great enhancement. Despite these minor issues, Cala de Mar remains an incredible destination. The breathtaking views, exceptional rooms, and welcoming atmosphere make it a wonderful place to relax. With a few refinements, it has the potential to be truly world-class. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a luxurious, peaceful, and scenic escape in Ixtapa!"

"This hotel Sara suites have so much mild in bathroom area smells bad, room have mold everywhere the place is birty ,sink DIDNT work shower head DIDNT work has mild walls , pool area dirty floors tables outside,floors this place I don’t recommend it ! I ask to speak with manager or owner the reception told me to write a letter but no money back so I check out I left the hotel because is NOT GOOD THIS HOTEL IN THE PICTURES LOOK DIFFERENT BUT WHEN YOU GET THERE IS BAD AND NO PARKING EITHER. Don’t Wasted your money! "
