Dont stay here.

We arrived via a bumpy dirt road during a thunderstorm. It was a room up steep stairs with 4 beds and a table. You had to go outside and down steep stairs to the bathroom and kitchen. The kitchen was disgusting. The toilet didn’t flush. You had to turn the water on and off. We stayed 20 minutes. The bed was covered in either flying ants or termites. Disgusting.

Endroit original et bien situé, petite maison sympathique avec confort minimum comme au camping mais mal entretenue et sale. Beaucoup de super promenade à faire dans la région qui est vraiment magnifique. 4x4 obligatoire !

Almost impossible to call this a property. TERRIBLE. Basically paid for a shed with a bed. Dirty. Dirty. Dirty. Slept in clothes. Did not use shower - toilet only if desperate. Honestly, just gross. Description of locale incredibly deceiving. As an example, the workout room was a rusty stationary bike from the 70’s. The next day couldn’t come soon enough!

Relaxing jungle experience!

We loved staying at the Howler Monkey Hotel. The remote location was perfect for us with not so many tourists around and we had the beach almost completely to ourselves everyday. Also since the hotel doesnt have that many cabinas it felt almost as if the hotel area was part of our private jungle garden. One morning a family of cappuccin monkeys moved through the trees of the hotel area so we watched them as we were having breakfast. We saw beautiful birds, iguana lizards, howler monkeys and squirrels everyday. And while laying in our beds at night we talked about the fact that the only sounds we could hear were the sounds of the ocean and the sounds from different animals. Amazingly relaxing!

Jim and Emma were very accommodating. Upon departure, Jim called in the howler monkeys to say goodbye and nearly 30 came by to perch in the trees above the Bungalow... very cool.

Great A-frame cabins right next to the beach, with a hammock and a picnic table right on the edge of the beach. Very relaxing, with a couple of sweet, friendly dogs there. The manager, Emma, is planting lots of flowers and fruit trees, and can give you a quick tour of all of them. There's also a small pool, and you can rent bicycles or kayaks. I definitely recommend it!

Good location (gravel/dusty roads), close to Cobano services/shopping and Montezuma (car/4WD recommended. Needs upgrading especially height of risers on staircases to 2nd floor bedroom. More suitable for younger families and guests on a budget. You get what you pay for. Very helpful and friendly owner and manager. Have fun !!

The epitome of laid-back ... roosters and monkeys from 1 am on, hosts who chat you up at all hours, blues or Irish music broadcast through the compound starting at 8:30 in the morning ... Maybe not the place for families or single women traveling alone or for neat-freaks, but if you don’t mind walking down weird ladder-stairs to go to the bathroom, it’s a chill place right on the beach....
