"A very loud fire alarm went off at 4am and went on for quite a while. I was already running on the stairs when it stopped. Goodbye sleep. The following morning I was expecting some apologies but no. When I mentioned it, the guy at the reception very cheerfully said "Oh, that. Yes, there was no fire, it was just a coffee machine. But so we know that the alarm works!" Which is Mecklenburg-Vorpommern idea of sense of humour, maybe."

"We have stayed in Gustrow many times over the years and usually choose another hotel, just out of the centre. This is a small hotel with small rooms. The Reception staff was very good and very friendly. The room was very small and the bathroom was even smaller. The bed was very hard, but the mattress was of good quality. The breakfast was not great. Limited hot food and not replenished very often. Personally, I would choose another hotel as this one did not offer the same quality of room or...

"Easy access via Bus 25 from Hbf, up 3 stops to Schroederplatz, and then Motel One is right there and also very close to the Kropeliner Tor and the main shopping district and old town. Although my room directly faced towards the Christmas markets and the children’s rides across the street, I barely heard the noise from my room. Breakfast buffet was fairly standard, no complaints. I do wish there was a coffee/tea maker in my room; however. Overall, good value and location."
