The location was ideal for our purposes. The staff were helpful and friendly and we enjoyed our meals(evening meal and breakfast). The only complaints we had were that we struggled to get the tempersture of our room right - the weather was very cold- and the lighting in the restaurant was rather subdued making it difficult to read the menu!

Even after repeatedly asking the staff to clean the room better and change dirty sheets they did not. I would return at the end of a day out to find a mess apart from a bed being made and bathroom cleaned. They do the very minimum and even that is not done well. And this is the same experience every time we stay there! To make matters worse this time we had a toilet that did not work…and even after it was “fixed” it did not work. We changed rooms eventually, but I should think a toilet should always work.

Superb staff, very friendly and polite. Brekkie was extremely good, and well marked out for allergens (one of our party is coeliac). Wine choice a little limited. Soft drinks well priced. Would stay again.

Stayed a few times. Good night sleep, in quiet comfortable room. Good quality breakfast, with plenty of options. Only downside was member of bar staff seemed abrupt! We’d all come back from my dads funeral, had drinks, then asked for food later on. We were told, up to an hour - hour an half wait for pizzas and tapas, as there was event upstairs, bar virtually empty for a Friday evening. When the pizza arrived, they were tough and seemed like they’d been stood a while!. I would definitely return, as I’ve had stays in the past, with nice meals in bar and pleasant staff.

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Cocina Restaurant during my lovely one night stay at Casa Hotel in Chesterfield and it was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the warm, attentive service set the tone for an exceptional evening. The menu is a delightful blend of Mediterranean and European dishes, all beautifully prepared with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients—many from Walton Lodge farm. Every bite was perfection, from the exquisitely seasoned starters to the show-stopping main courses. The open kitchen added an extra touch of excitement, letting us witness the artistry behind each dish. The atmosphere was sophisticated yet inviting, making it perfect for a special occasion or just an indulgent treat. Cocina exceeded all expectations, and I can’t wait to return for another unforgettable meal. Highly recommend!

Television did not have TV guide function or channel list. No smart apps or streaming services either. This makes trying to find something to watch almost impossible. Forget the fancy decor, they should be concentrating on getting the simple things right first. Will not be staying again.
