"We really enjoyed our stay at the Outpost Inn. It felt like a rustic mountain lodge. The inn was actually redecorated when bought by the current owners. It was clean and the people working there were helpful. They had added some outdoor seating areas and a fire pit which is great for when the weather is nice. The price is good for the area. It was very close to the main street area with shops and restaurants. We'd stay there again as long as the price stays reasonable."

"Overall i enjoyed my stay at the property. Loved the treehouse feeling. It rained a lot while i was there so didn't get to use the balconies as much as i would have liked. The jetted tub was fun after a day spent hiking. Also enjoyed dinner at the Library restaurant right down the road, and was glad to have an Ingles nearby as well as a gas station. "The Skyline Lodge is an older property that is on top of a ridge a couple of miles outside of Highlands. The property is quite beautiful It was extensively renovated and updated a couple of years ago. Our room was large and nicely decorated. the bathroom was a bit small but fine. "This is such a great place. Rooms were very nicely done , comfortable king size bed, amazing shower . Very quiet . Walking distance to several dining options. Common area with fire pit and comfortable chairs. Check in was the easiest I have ever experienced. Great sitting area in the lobby area with gas fire place and a covered front porch with a few rocking chairs. A few cottages on site as well. Staff were so accommodating and very friendly. We will stay here again "

"We loved the location. The unit was 2 floors, which we were not warned about, no handicap access. It was dated, but that really didn't matter to us because there was so much to do there we didn't spend much time in the room. The room was not soundproof because there was a bedroom over our bedroom and we could hear every little movement! It was clean and the kitchen was well equipped."

"Everything was absolutely adorable, retro with a lot of class. You could tell the owners really cared about their property and took beautiful care of it. It was absolutely clean, the beds were wonderfully comfortable, the fans in every room to the old-fashioned, but there was also an air conditioner so, they were really just for a little added comfort. Coffee pot brewed, great coffee, and the place was spotless."
