A somewhat dingy 2-3 star hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful but quality of room was poor. I chose it because of its proximity to a friend’s house, but in retrospect it was a bad choice.

Internet was not working in my room. I checked in at 4 pm and they were struggling to fix internet issue till night 8 pm. I told them to leave it as I wanted to sleep. The same issue with TV, there were no Hindi channels. The supervisor offered to change the room at night 8:30. Totally horrible experience, never going to stay there again.

Property is overall good, be extremely careful about reviewing bills and payments, you might lose money otherwise. Always have receipts for cash payments, otherwise payments can repeat and you might end up losing cash. Keep record for everything. Cleanliness overall good but the bathrooms are leaky.

What I liked : courteous staff; professional; clean. Housekeeping requires special mention. What I did not like was the traffic roundabout in front of the Hotel (which is of course, beyond the control of the Hotel).

Excellent position for what I needed
The staff were excellent in every way and most helpful. The Reception people were polite and did all they could to make my 6 nights in the hotel as comfortable as possible. The room was spotlessly clean and extremely well serviced every day. The Sea Breeze Restaurant was delightful. Marvellous buffet breakfasts and superb evening meals. The place was a real treat and my stay there was most enjoyable. ALL of the staff are a credit to the management, who I am sure are proud of them. I hope to stay there again.

Amazing stay in chennai
It's a amazing stay and moving forward for all my trip to chennai will stay at JP only. A small comment on complimentary breakfast if people arrive at 12 if u can swap for lunch or dinner would be great. I will recommend JP hotel for my friends and family.

Excellent customer service by exceptional staff
JP hotel exceeded my expectations. All of their staff, from the bell boy to the waiter, to the receptionist Mr. Sasikumar had smiling faces and a ready to help mentality. I was able to appreciate little things like 3 bottled water daily in my room which was complimentary. I had minor issues with wifi and had to change my check out time at the last minute which was dealt with and resolved effortlessly and politely by Mr. Sasikumar, to which I'm very grateful. Wifi is available only on one device and there is no business center for printing. But I was able to get away without too much trouble. The hotel is opposite Chennai Mofussil Bus terminus which is how I came to know about JP hotel. The complimentary breakfast buffet was excellent and the obliging attitude of the staff only added to the quiet ambience of the restaurant. I saw Saravanaa Bhavan restaurant opposite the hotel too, but didn't get time to taste their food. Airport pick up and drop off was facilitated by the hotel at an additional charge. I found that the drivers (be it car/bus) in chennai are extremely rash in driving. In the meantime, kudos to Mr. Ahmed my drop off driver who was able to follow the traffic rules and also maintain a pleasant conversation amidst the existing chaos, which kept my mind at ease during the 25min ride to the airport. This hotel is a good choice and money well spent.
