Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Wouldn't recommend, especially not for tourists!
The hotel looks very shabby from the outside. Initially very difficult to check in as none of the staff speak any English at all. I was with someone who could speak a little Chinese, but it was still not easy to make ourselves understood. It is therefore also impossible to order breakfast or to get assistance with tours/tickets as stated in the hotel information. The rooms are certainly not sound proof as stated, and can be booked very cheaply on an hourly rate, so it was sometimes very noisy having to listen to people using the rooms for such purposes. Every night, up to a dozen 'business' cards would be pushed under the door advertising adult services - again, not pleasant to have to keep on getting rid of them. No clock radio or sewing kit as stated in information. Neither was the bottled water complimentary and it was out of date! No Wi Fi available in rooms, and staff couldn't help with information about where it was available as they didn't understand. The bed was clean, though the bathroom wasn't particularly clean and smelled all the time. The hotel would be adequate as a cheap hotel for business travellers who speak Chinese, but as the only English speaking and non-Chinese person in the entire hotel for my 10 day stay, it was very difficult to get help for anything. Not the fault of the staff, of course, who did seem friendly and would smile and nod at me, but we couldn't communicate beyond that. Didn't use the restaurant, again because of the language barrier.
