"What a find - a hotel in a working convent that used to be a palace! Breakfast nice, dinner excellent. Good choice of wines and beer. Room spotlessly clean, nice size. Grounds beautifully kept. Lovely long walking trails in the woods behind the convent. Plenty of safe parking. Very tranquil, absolutely top class, and at a very fair price. This is the second time I have stayed there, and will do so again. "

"There were renovations taking place during our atay which made finding the building difficult to find as the hotel sign was covered. Make sure you don't show up early for check-in as the doors are locked during certain parts of the day and only accessible with a key you receive when checking in. "We booked this small hotel without knowing the area. Philippsburg is not the most popular stopping place for tourists, but we liked it for it's authenticity and quiet. We walked around the village and the nearby lake and the surrounding forests were wonderful."

"Hotel is located on a hill overlooking the valley - wonderful sunrise views. Property is well maintained and rooms/bathrooms well appointed. One issue for us - we may have been placed into an accessible room - the bathroom light was tied to the door of the bathroom opening - there was no way to control the light other than the door (I asked). If you use the bathroom at night, and do not want the light to come on - you had to pull your key out of the main switch at the wall which cut all power...

"Logistically great! Accommodated very late arrival, all in English, coordinated via WatsApp without an issue, hotel in a nice location, local historical building. Definitely come here if you want the traditional Alsace experience. Easy parking in front of hotel. Room looked like new although the building is hundreds years old."

"The property is very pretty our room in particular (junior suite) was very spacious and architecturally pleasing. The location was fabulous for purposes of shopping, Christmas markets and historical touring. the upgrade buffet breakfast could have been better. The café was quite crowded, the coffee machine was frequently having problems, The orange juice appeared to have come from a bottle and there was some chaos around the boiled eggs. The cheese selection and pastries were good though "

Great hotel for a great stay!

"An amazing stay on all fronts. Staff very friendly and attentive. Excellent facilities including gym and spa. The garden was a great place to relax with a drink in the evening. Only slight blot was that we had a big cobweb in our room above the desk area which was not cleaned away during our five night stay. So, only 4 stars given for cleanliness. But otherwise, Excellent! Highly recommend."
