Although the hotel is pleasant, the area around it is very rundown and appears unsafe. The garage for self parking is shared with the Marriott about 2 blocks away, not very convenient.

Staff was exceptional, especially Jerry the bellman/shuttle driver. Nice downtown location, within a few blocks of numerous restaurants, shops, and city plaza. Great breakfast and reception/happy hour, too. We'll be back.

We loved the beautiful amenities and large rooms. The sitting area was roomy and the door to the bedroom was convenient so you couldn't hear someone watching tv in the other area. There was a happy hour reception in the lobby with snacks and drinks. It was nice to relax before dinner. We were able to walk to several places for dinner too. We plan to stay here everytime we are in Charleston.
