"Located in the heart of Santa Teresa, this was a decent stop for a couple of nights. Bear in mind it is located directly off the main strip, so it is quite loud at all times. That being said, the property is extremely walkable with all amenities close by, and no 4x4 required to access unlike some of the other properties located up the hill. . The living room AC kept the unit cool, and the equipped kitchen was appreciated. Decent price for the space, and property rep was very responsive."

"A completely run down place. When entering the room there was mouse poop on the beds and the shelves. Taking a shower was impossible because there wasn’t enough water available. Place is not safe. Long dark walkways without any illumination in the property to get to your cabin. At night lots of traffic noise and parties in the neighborhood. Not recommendable"

"My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week in February. The room was gorgeous with an even more magical view of the jungle below. The service from the resort was outstanding. The concierge came to meet us personally and gave us recommendations for the nearby area. The resort is conveniently located walking distance to the beach and several restaurants. They also washed our laundry and cleaned our car free of charge. Highly recommend"

"The house we stayed in has beautiful woodwork and was spacious but also a bit treacherous with a stairway with no handrail and a step up part way into the living area. The beach is lovely and it was not touristy when we there (during heavy rainfall). Howler monkeys entertained us frequently. The maid did a very good job. "Absolutely loved this place. Really liked the pool area. Awesome rooms with nice kitchenettes and comfortable beds. Staff was very helpful throughout our stay. Especially the day we were checking out we were going on a day trip excursion and they kept our bags for the day while we were out and Julieta was very accomidating and met us after cleaning staff was gone to supply us with our bags. Hotel Casa Chameleon Mal Pais - Adults Only

"Beautifully appointed rooms with private plunge pool and view of ocean. Staff very courteous. Breakfasts included in rate were excellent. We ate dinner at the hotel most nights for convenience and because the food and service was good. The main drawback of this hotel is that it is too far away from Santa Teresa and the main beaches to walk so you need to book taxis ( $20 each way), rent an ATV or rent a car. "

"This property is large and beautiful! Well taken care of! The pool is wonderful too! Great place to stay with the family or as a couple. Only note is if you stay in a villa, request one a few up the hill. Unless you are there for the party and to stay up late. The music sounds great, just goes late."

"Fabulous location and beautiful grounds! Walking distance to excellent restaurants, grocery and right on prime area of the beach. Food is fantastic and all staff were all wonderful and helpful. Beware of the "standard garden rooms". They are right on road--no protection from street noise:( Bathrooms are dated, but rooms in general are comfortable. Good place to stay."
