"We only got to stay at Hotel Banana Azul just one night but had a very nice time. We came in late and was greeted by Genesis at the reception. She made us feel right at home and showed us to our bungalow on the other side of the property. We opted to have breakfast in the shared dining area and were helped by Maria. Food was wonderful and it was very pleasant chatting with Maria who gave us some helpful travel recommendations for the Viejo and Cahuita Beach areas. We couldn't stay a second night on account of all the rooms were already booked. Too bad! But, we will definitely come back to Hotel Banana Azul next time we're in the area."

"Mawamba Lodge is very lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed the facility, walking along the beach, and strolling through the village of Tortuguero. Mawamba has a recycling station where you can pick up a bucket, walk along the beach and pick up garbage left behind by the tide. We like thinking we may have made a little difference for the turtles."

"Great stay, good selection of food for breakfast. Could use more beach chairs at the pool. Like so often people put towels to reserve them and then aren't around for hours later. Frustrating! "
