Extremely pleasant stay at The Barns for a couple of nights while we were visiting for a family wedding. Staff were very accommodating and friendly and the rooms were large, with a VERY comfortable bed, well appointed bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities. There was a good choice for breakfast with plenty to set you up for the day. We would definitely return as we felt welcome and comfortable.

Always a good stay
I’ve stayed at the barns several times and never been disappointed, on reflection it’s quite expensive but its location is ideal when I visit family in the area. The breakfast is always great and the staff who work the breakfast shift are always exceptional, work so hard and always polite. This hotel is also a wedding venue so take your ear plugs, it’s not quiet and relaxing at such times, but will always get top points from me.

I love the lay out of the building, the room was beautiful and the bed was so comfy! The lovely man on reception was so helpful as we didn’t get there till 1am due our wedding reception running over! We would most definitely stay here again! The breakfast was delicious and there was just the right amount and beautifully presented and breakfast staff were fantastic! Thank you so much you guys are awesome! Definitely recommend to our friends and family!!!

Would have been nice to have the option to order room service, especially considering the restaurant was dead when we got there for dinner. The meal I had in the eve was the lamb, the veggies were OVERdone and the sauce was so thick and bitter - ruined the lamb unfortunately. Our server with the tattoos was lovely though and the breakfast we had the next day was incredible. A lovely building, very clean and spacious. Would recommend but just not the lamb!

Lovely hotel and very friendly welcoming staff. We stayed for one night as we went to forest live and would definitely recommend The Barns. We had lunch in the restaurant and excellent selection of choice and food was delicious. We will be coming back

4/10 Disappointing for the cost
Arrived for check inn reception not very engaging. Room was spacious clean bed is comfy but pillows are not luxurious they were flat and not comfy. The shower room looks lovely and clean but shower pressure very poor. We were out most of the day arrived back at just before midnight and room very cold had to go to reception for them to say they need to reboot the boiler, this is the second stay in six months that they gave day this, so obviously not interested in guest comfort. Breakfast this morning very poor experience was greeted by staff who instead of asking how you are abruptly said sit anywhere, food was ok a little on the greasy spoon side the staff were not attentive and either on there mobile phones, eating at the service station and talking between them selves of what the could do with the hose tap in the wash room area. Totally unprofessional and would say need a complete overhaul in hospitality training, it was like being ignored. Passed all this on to the receptionist on the check out on 16/06/24 she said she would look in to it but again how she came across was not very interested and not bothered, she didn’t ask how was our stay…. Maybe they don’t ask this as they would get more feed back like mine. Shame this place has so much potential.
