"Just across the street from the ocean and beach, a beautiful, secluded property. Each room/cabins has private outdoor space. Our quad room had great mini kitchen type amenities. Ocean waves, sloths, parrots, toucans, iguanas, tree frogs and CONSTANT agoutis running around! A little paradise. The owners are very helpful. "We stayed 3 nights at Umami in Puerto Viejo. The hotel is lovely, quiet and set back from the main road through the town but still only a 5min stroll to the seafront. Room itself was clean and modern with AC. Breakfast was typical Costa Rican and served by the pool each morning which was great. Free parking right outside. I’d certainly return to the hotel and only have good things to say about our time there. One advice I’d give is to avoid the sister hotel’s restaurant (Num at Namu) - it’s...

"Beautiful villa and pool. We loved our stay but the communication with front desk was terrible. Getting fresh water was a bit annoying and trying to work out any issue with the front desk is impossible as they do not respond to emails and simply do not call you back.
