"Everything is perfect! Staff is so awesome & Ryokan is well maintained. Only concerns are internet connection is bad & the constant phone call buzzing. Our check out is 10am but by 9:40am they’d started buzzing us."

"We stayed in a room with a private indoor and outdoor bath. We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing experience. Check in and check out were a breeze and all of the staff were wonderfully welcoming. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and the short walk into town allowed us to explore all of the charming shops and restaurants that Yufuin had to offer."

"Nice property just off the main street, near train station. It is pet friendly with 3 resident cats roaming around the lobby. You get to book 2 sessions at the baths after checked in, the semi open bath on the 2nd level is popular, while the rooftop bath may not be a good idea in cold weather although the view is great. You get free use of the bicycles for your stay. There is no lift so you have to carry your luggages up and down the stairs."

If you’re fortunate enough to get a room with a private onsen, you can enjoy all manner of luxury beyond the available public onsen facilities. "Everything about Nihon No Ashitaba was so incredibly beautiful, serene, and thoughtful. They offer a free shuttle everyday to Yufuin station where you can walk, shop, eat, and enjoy Yufuin. We were greeted promptly after riding the Yufuin No Mori from Hakata Station.They have multiple private onsens and a large open air hot spring you can reserve a time everyday if you wanted. "유후인역에서 너무 멀어서 걸어갈 수 없고 지도에서 찾기 어려웠다. 이름이 잘 나오지 않아서 심지어 유령호텔인 줄 알았다. 택시타고 갔어야 했는데 버스 이용객인 나는 정말 어려움이 많았고 유후인에 놀러갈 때는 유후인역 근처에 숙소를 구해야 한다."

"The ryokan is a distance away from the station and some section of path to it is unlit, becareful when coming in winter where the sun sets earlier. Most stores also closes by 5:30pm so take note. That said, the staff are really friendly and accomodating, one of the staff, Sato, reached out to guide me on what to do and set the private onsen timings weeks before, great service throughout. The breakfast is also really good! I really enjoyed my stay!"

"We enjoyed our stay at this ryokan. We stayed in a traditional Japanese room and it was a unique experience. The staff was very friendly, attentive and helpful. Our dinner and breakfast was served in the dining room at the precise time we specified. The dishes were so thoughtfully placed. Thank you for making our stay a memorable one!!!"

"No bathroom!!!!!!! Overpriced tiny room ! It says “ shared bathroom” no only the hot spring room which is for all the residents! A con a rip off. I am going to sue them get a refund. Liars. DO NOT go there!"

"Location: The hotel is located about 1.6KM (approximately 25 mins walk) from Yufuin Station and food source. Connectivity: WiFi is not available in the room, only in the lobby. Customer Service: Requested for a dinner reservation on the third night of our stay, but got rejected. Requested for two additional pillows, but got rejected again. Enjoyable stay.

"Comfortable stay at Baien resort and walking distance 10 mins to the lake and shopping trip. Took a taxi from Yufuin station and cost JPY800. We enjoyed our stroll and admiring the autum foliage while walking out to the lake. It has 2 nice private onsens and 1 separate public onsen for male and female. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, staff are friendly. Recommended and enjoyable stay. "

"Clean and very big room, well designed. We love the nice and serene landscape while walking along the walkway from the room to the restaurant. We have booked with half board, the sumptuous dinner might have been well enjoyed by some but the amount were too much for us to stomach. On the last night, I received an alert on earthquake from my phone and felt a slight tremor. Unsure what to do, we went down to lobby to enquire but the only staff manning was unable to speak English and I had to communicate with the phone. Overall, it is a very nice hotel to stay in, though it was quite a distance driving from the airport. It is a short walking distance to Kinrin lake and Yufuin Floral village. "
