Not to be relied upon!
We had booked this hotel several months in advance of our trip to Argentina - one night when we arrived and one night before we left. The first night went well, friendly staff, nice place but when we returned to Buenos Aires 3 weeks later we worked out as there was nobody on reception, that our booking had been cancelled and the hotel was only open to long stay residents. There was no mention of this happening when we were there on our first night! At 8pm we had to then sort out new accommodation and organise a taxi to get there - luckily one of our phones worked in Argentina!

Location, location, location.
It was a bit noisy since we overlooked the street. Ask for an "inside" room. It was clean but dated. A couple of things didnt work properly but it was an ok place to stay for 3 nights. The breakfast is nothing....coffee and toast.

Charming historic property in BA
I stayed here on my first night in BA and will return for a stay on my last night too. I can't say enough good things. The hotel is lovely, historic, charming, well appointed. Rooms have en suite toilets and showers (albeit a little small). I felt as if I was staying in a home, not a hotel. Common areas are lovely and breakfast is complimentary. The best asset is the staff- they are incredibly friendly and helpful and will go out of their way to assist with anything- even calling to make boat/bus reservations. They are a slew of information (especially Gabriella & Guillermo). I highly recommend this property!

Great place
If it wasn't for the staff, I probably would have rated this place as average. But thanks to them , the stay here was well beyond average! Shout out to Kevin, Leonardo and Guillermo for making my stay there very pleasant. I've been solo traveling for a couple months now and these guys were approachable and offered lots of insights on everything BA. I received great knowledge of good attractions and restaurants to see and eat from there. Location was great. Nearby lots of attractions and good restaurants. My room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable along with a balcony to smoke at. Breakfast was normal and did its job of filling me up. Wifi worked fine for all four days I stayed there. Bathroom got drenched in water everytime I took a shower. But dried up pretty quickly after. You have to buzz in and out of the building, which sometimes irritated me because I hate having to bother the staff every single time I went in and out. I barely used it but the TV was very outdated Overall, for the price I paid, I believe it was worth it and I would gladly stay here again if it stayed the same!

Great location
It's in a great location, rooms are with huge 12 foot ceilings so not ideal in summer as the air conditioner was not working in ours. The hotel is on the third floor of an old building. The service was good and staff was helpful. If you're looking for a budget hotel close to downtown its for you,you can walk to most places like Theatro Colon.Avenue Corrientes is a couple of minutes walk and has a lot of eateries and the closest subte Callao.

Old Buenos Aires
The hotel is clean and in a good location. I think it can use an update. It is OK for one or two nights. The furniture is old and not necessarily "boutique-like". I did not try their breakfast, so I can't comment on that.

Just OK
This is a converted 3rd floor apt in a poor section of town. The breakfast was adequate however the a/c was non functional for the first day and 3 of the bulbs where burnt out in the small room

Good location near the subte stop. Close to tourist attractions. Staff was very friendly and available 24/7 at the front desk. Floor was a bit creaky and walls were thin but expected from a boutique hotel. Breakfast was good and Internet connection worked very well

Beautiful building with beautiful and clean high rise rooms. excellent services. Staff are very friendly and professional. Very convenient location at the center of everything. Free luggage storage. Rooms appear a bit small compared to "standard" hotel rooms but well that's also why it's charming!

Charming, friendly, excellent wifi, a bit noisy
Quaintly, charmingly decorated small hotel in old building. Good location, near subway and many restaurants. Very friendly staff. Room is comfortable. *Excellent* wifi. A bit noisy neighbors: was taking a nap around 6pm (jetlagged) and woke up with very loud music from residential neighbor. Also, cleaning in next room woke me up (broom hitting wall).

good budget hotel
helpful & friendly english-speaking staff. nice room. hotel is one floor of an apartment building so expect to hear occasional loud music / dog barking (stuff you would expect to hear in an apartment building). it does quiet down at night. building is located at one of the busiest intersections in the city. neighborhood is safe but not very pleasant. when i was there, it was 70 degrees F outside and the heat (steam radiator) was on!!! must be a porteno thing. had to run the A/C to keep from sweating...

Great rate for your money! Quaint room.
I love my stay even though it was only for four hours as I arrived late. Abigail and the front desk lady in the morning were quite nice. Although I had to leave about 2 am to catch a flight, Abigail made sure I would have fruits and coffee in the morning (you get a choice of what you wanted but I wanted fruits) so that I can at least have something to eat before I depart. Yes the hotel can offer change. The room a Deluxe is nice. I love the furnishingsI I arrived around 10:30 pm and being a female solo traveller, I didn't care to walk around the neighbourhood. The only thing is I couldn't find outlets in the room (not wanting to push bed out from the wall), I charged my phone in the bathroom (at least they have bathroom outlets). For the money, it was a great deal!

Excellent location. Excellent breakfast. Nice place. But... we got a broken mattress. The good thing is that as soon as I reported the problem was solved. (Did the manager and employees overlooked the fact that there was a broken mattress in room #2???)

Outstanding stay and the nicest staff
I have stayed and many many hotels all around the world due to my career. I must say this was one of the nicest stays I have had in a hotel. The staff was so nice and very helpful. The owner of this boutique hotel very accommodating and truly caring for the people who stay there. I must say 5 stars all the way! Since my business involves lots of travel and unpredictable schedules at times I need a place that is on their toes with service. I could not have been happier staying there.

Best possible hotel in best possible location!!!
From the second we arrived we just knew this was a very special place! From the moment we entered into their exquisite old fashioned elevator we had huge smiles on our faces. We arrived in the early morning hours and the warm greeting we got made us feel right at home. Our room was so much more than we expected as it was absolutely charming in every way. The high ceilings, the color schemes, the furniture and the balcony really did have a boutique feel. The staff could not be more hospitable, friendlier and informative. They were always accommodating and with a smile. They also were always immediately answering all our questions, whatever they were, 24 hours around the clock. If they didn't have an answers they researched it for us on the internet right then and there or left notes for us as soon as possible, and we did bother them with questions all day and all night. The breakfast was always delicious and plentiful, especially the eggs made to order and those wonderful croissants. The tango lessons right in their sitting room were great and so convenient, and we are still practicing. If this hotel started a chain I would stay at a it in every city in the world.

Lovely Old Building, Would Recommend
The building had charming touches in terms of decor. Well maintained. Our room was set up as we had requested and was clean. There was a bar but there was no bar service offerede. We had early departure and were served breakfast in our room (coffee, OK, medialunas). We returned to BA and stayed in 2 hotels for business and then another hotel for holiday at the and the Rooney neighbourhood was not one that we would choose again. Having said that, it was better than a couple of other areas of the city in terms of safety/security. The hotel itself was very secure. The two receptionists we met were very friendly and we received a particularly warm welcome on arrival. However, the restaurant recommendation was not great and when we returned from dinner there was no electricity in the hotel. The receptionist said it was something unusual and could not be fixed until morning but when I spoke to the owner (who was charming and wanted us to return later in our visit so he could put things right) he said there were rolling blackouts around the city. We did not encounter this again in the other 6 nights we stayed in BA. There was no back up so we had to use torches and there was no air-con. Overall it was good value for money (just for the ride in the original cage lift!) and the owner did seem to care about our disappointment so if you need to be in this area I would recommend the hotel.
