I often take trains to/from Keleti and this hotel is walkable (even with heavy luggage) from the train station. The staff are very eager to help you with your needs. The breakfast is fabulous. Transportation options are all very close by. The hotel has a “Hungarian feel” and I really like that about it.
The hotel met our needs. Recently renovated. Our room was a bit "cozy". Super friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast. Parking under the building. Public transportation hub nearby. Also craft beer close by. Will consider staying there again because of the location.
Convenient location just 3 minutes walk to the subway/train system, 1 minute to a Sightseeing bus stop, and local buses, breakfast for everyone's likes.
I used, on occasion, to review hotels as part of my job working for a national newspaper - luckily for the Hungaria, this won't be going to print..
If you are looking for a basic no frills hotel, central, with good access to public transport then this hotel fits the bill nicely. Breakfast is a sparse affair... reconstituted scrambled eggs, cheap cuts of cold meat, fruit, yoghurt and a cold porridge like substance. It does the job but that's about it.
I had upgraded to a junior suite for my visit and the room was spartan but clean and fairly spacious.
The lower floors looked pretty dismal and could clearly benefit from a refurb.
The staff were generally lovely, courteous and helpful - easily the hotel's strongest asset.
There is not much by way of facilities, so, if you like a pool/spa or gym session, then this is not for you.
Overall, I'd describe the experience as 'adequate'.
The hotel is clean, it's in very convenient location to train station, other transportation lines, and supermarket. The front desk provided good services and helpful suggestions when we ask.
My room was upgraded for free which was a nice surprise after a long flight.
Street traffic from hotel room can be heard at night since it's next to busy roads but the location is very convenient for people travelling from/to Keleti railway station.
Pleased with my stay and would book again.
The hotel is very close to the Keleti train station and you can walk across the street and go underground to access it. The front desk was helpful and the room was nice, and decent sized. Seemed to be fairly quiet. All in all a good stay at a conventient location.
It was great to be close to central station. The staff need to be better informed to handle questions for large events in town regarding how to get the events, etc.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Everything seems to be very outdated, from carpet to furniture, at least 25 years old. Was convenient because of the public transportation.
Great location, right next to the Keleti Train station. Beautiful view of the station.
The hotel is a little old, but clean and the bed is very comfortable. Everyone is very friendly and kind.
The breakfast buffe is a must. Everything is clean, and great choices of food.
We highly recommend this place and we did and will stay here again.
Thank you

One night in Budapest
Arrived around 2am. Check in service was smooth and efficient. Hotel is being renovated. Looks awful at night. Not so bad in the daytime
1. The room was modestly clean so long as you were not lying on the ground.
2. Staff was kind.
3. Since it is near Keleti station, it is super friendly for tourists who need to find a big building in case of being lost.
4. The corridor next to the hotel was a bit dark in the evening but I would not say it was dangerous. Just be careful.
5. It was a bit noisy in the night because of the siren. The hotel did provide earplugs though.
6. There are some restaurants and fast food chains nearby; still, if you are looking for particular fine dining, you may take bus or metro toward inner city area. Buses run frequently and I didn’t wait too long.
In general, I recommend this hotel for its location.

Good
The first room we got was very noisy and smelled like smoked cigarettes. Luckily we were able to get another non-smoking room. We were satisfied with our room.
Special thanks for having lactose-free and vegan options on the breakfast menu.

Good for budget travel
Location is good as it very close to the main station, price also good for value it reflects the hotel is aged. My room next to the lift and it’s clear to hear the ppl talking when sitting outside the sofa and lift ring. Room is clear, however the facilities are aged, the bed sinks. But in compare to the price and convenience, it is fair enough. Good for budget travel.
Property is ok, room was adequate, clean. Issue is breakfast buffet, the caffe is watered down, not enough personal to handle it. I was there a year ago, was much better. The location is good, next to the train station and 2 lines of Metro. and on major thoroughfare. The area became run down, although is safe. The metropolitan government run by socialists is responsible for it. Sounds familiar, Dave thing happening in democrats run cities in USA. At least the are is still safe. Pity, Budapest is a beautiful city.
