"has everything you need for a short stay. Bedrooms and bathrooms are quite tiny and wardrobe space is limited. No problem if you are out and about most of the time but staying in might be a bit crammed. There is a small outdoor area to sit in - if you like talking to the neighbours as all chalets ..."

The old town quite fascinating if you like antiques and retro. Sowerby hall and gardens are lovely even in winter, must be stunning in summer.

We went on christmas day this and last year. There is a cafe on the sea front called Rubys he opens from morning to about 3/4pm so we went there for christmas dinner, burger and 2 lots of chips £6.80, indian open till 8pm round the corner.
