"Staff extremely helpful under tricky conditions. With storm we had no electricity from 8am on 24th and still not connected this morning when I left. Staff put on a log stove in Bistro,managed to do teas n coffees on small gas heater, supplied good battery lamps for each resident, Manager even carefully drove in evening into part of Lanark with power and brought back a meal for an older person staying for BnB, She would not take money for that. Ever staff member there did much more that needed...

"It was an absolute pleasure to stay here. The hosts were charming and attentive. It was fun to talk with them and the other guests, and the breakfast (made specially for each guest) was some of the best food I had while in the UK. The bathroom was pretty small, and the shower was one of those stand-alone ones that looks a bit like a box, but the bathroom and room were always very clean. "We stayed here a few nights to visit Edinburgh in festival month. The owner is very welcoming and friendly; but the standard is disappointing by today's standards. A dog seemed to have stayed in the room before us (she takes pets) which needed more thorough airing and cleaning. The room had a slightly tired feeling. The setting is lovely and it is handy for Edinburgh - 30 mins by car and a good train service from nearby Linlithgow."

"Great family run place with nice rooms and a covenient location. This place is great if you're renting a car or not. It's right by the train station that goes to either Glasgow or Edinburgh, but in a small-town area so that if you have a rental car, it's easy to manage. Lots of sights to see nearby.
