"Overall my stay was very good. The staff and service was excellent. However, my room was facing the main road, and although my room was on the second floor, due the drafts from the gaps in the windows, it also allowed the street noise from those less fortunate to echo into my room in the early hours of the morning. "We booked to stay one night for our anniversary down from the north on the day of the first snow in November! Still our day was delightful, the hotel is based in a picturesque village overlooking open countryside. The view was even more idillic with the covering of snow. Our hostess was very welcoming and very helpful all through our stay. The food was superb, we would have loved to stay longer but we had other commitments. "Friendly welcome, attentive but not intrusive service in the restaurant. Room was spotlessly clean, bed was comfortable. Shower was hot (just as I like it!). Food is homecooked and very, very good. "I was very pleasantly surprised at how clean and comfy this hotel was, needed a low cost last minute night. Mixed feelings

"Was informed 3 days before stay that we would be staying in a different house to listing, which for us was ok. Clean bedding, comfortable beds. However the house although wasn't filthy it wasn't clean. The whole place looked like a family had just "popped out". Clothes hanging on doors, shoes left where they had just taken them off, generally a untidy house."
