Peaceful Mountain Escape
Call of the Wild is a beautiful home that was the perfect place to retreat for a few days. Within an easy drive is downtown Blue Ridge and lots of great hiking, but it is secluded enough and peaceful to spend time at the cabin as well. Well-equipped with everything we needed for cooking etc. We loved spending time in the hot tub and playing foosball and air hockey in the basement. So much space for a couple and definitely would also work for a family or two couples. The main office is very helpful (I thought there was a problem with the coffee maker and called them, and they were ready to help problem-solve right away... turns out the problem was just me, before having my morning coffee). The place overall was very comfortable, the only thing that would make it perfect is better mattresses (they were not terrible but not great), but for the price it definitely exceeded expectations. We hope to be back!

Great place to enjoy the mountain views
Great place. Very enjoyable. This was only our second mountain experience. We have been mostly travelers of resorts, so not sure what to expect. But here are some suggestions. When booking more than one night, provide more than one trash bag. Getting an email a few days in advance that says we need to bring all of our own trash bags, paper towels when booking for a week and 200/night... Add a TV in the game room/basement. Add chairs to the backyard fire pit for better comfort. The house is also being attacked by wasp. Blocking the front door, hot tub, and trapped in the top floor screened in balcony. Overall, the home is equipped with a full kitchen, pots, pan. All good. Odd stuff like kitchen hand soap was broken and couldn’t use. Also the kitchen scissors only had one side. Some things felt like a rental that just isn’t given much attention, and then warning signs everywhere not making you feel all that welcome. The tone set from the welcome email, bring your own stuff, you have been given one day.
