We arrived at 19-30 to this old family house. House has three levels and is in a very good condition, I must say. It’s located ina deserted area, 10 km away from Blonduos.
The surrounding area has a trampoline for kids. The horses were behind the fence under the current – so did not come to us.
We were accommodated on the third level in a big enough room for a family (with two kids). The beds were comfortable, the room was warm and clean, there was a capsule type coffee-machine with capsules present, but no kettle.
The second floor is occupied by owners, and the first floor is the kitchen and dining area.
By the time we were set, it was close to 21-00, so we asked the elderly owner, woman, if we may use the kitchen – we were going to make porridge for our kids – and surprisingly she said ‘no, you may not. There is a restaurant 10 km away from here’… Disappointing. I would really appreciate a cup of hot tea after a long journey in a windy cold weather, but it also has not been offered.
Breakfast is free but is very humble. Selection of breads, spread cheese, butter, peanut butter, apples-bananas, small amount of vegetable, good coffee and hot water for tea. Some tea bags were looking like they were right taken away from the pocket. No eggs, no yoghurts.
