At £95 for the night I felt this was a bit much for the room I had. Bar staff were nice, no WIFI in the bedroom. A bit quiet in the bar, owner was busy on lap top and no music, not very atmospheric. The village is beautiful though
The picture shown is not like the bedroom we had which was called Capability. It was quite dark even with the lights on, the ladies vanity stool needed repairing as did the siding on the bath.
Overall it was tired and needed some management. The young serving staff at night and the lady in charge of the breakfast were very obliging and keen to give a very good service. Unfortunately the manager/owner was fully involved with a table of locals to provide any help or guidance to his staff or talk to his guests.

I'd go back
The Hambro Arms is an attractive building in an attractive village, due to the requirements of Covid 19 the tables in the bar have been mover or removed to comply with the restrictions but the rooms and restaurant are fine. the showers sometimes show the age of the building and the thickness of the walls makes wifi a bit hit and miss

Bed and room was comfortable but had problems with the shower pressure throughout our stay with shower being difficult to start and often stopping mid shower, we understand they have ongoing plumbing issues but made having a shower very difficult.
Breakfast was very good but ate in the restaurant on 2 occasions, they have a fairly limited menu and on both times our first choice of main course had run out, on one day our first and second choice had both run out, on both day's we ate reasonably early at 7.30 so feel it was very poor management in the kitchen to keep running out of the items and made eating there very disappointing. Housekeeping and waiting staff were friendly and helpful but put in difficult position by poor management of the building and kitchen

Slightly disappointing
Generally good. Great location. Problem with shower in bathroom. Not a huge choice on the evening menu. One night only one starter as chef had no help. Unsatisfactory in my opinion. Chef, however, was extremely helpful and one evening did a delicious meal especially for us. Otherwise no complaints. Breakfast good but no fresh fruit.
Great location in a village full of character, good food, pleasant staff, nice bedroom overlooking the main village street. The incredible MIlton Abbey is only 5 minutes drive away.
We had a lovely stay the staff are extremely friendly and cant offer to help enough especially the lovely breakfast lady forgot to ask her name. We stayed in the Chambers room big enough for us very comfortable kingsize bed and i am very fussy with bed comfort alittle noisy from the bar til 11-11.30 but to be expected when staying above a public house on staff alone worth a visit. Fantastic choice for the complimentary breakfast as well

Hotel was easy to find as it was the first building on the pretty picturesque “street” of Milton Abbas. This street is famous for its thatched houses and on a sunny day, the scene looks straight out of a Hobbit filmset. Hotel is set in a pub, which offers friendly service and top-notch food. The rooms themselves are upstairs of the pub. While nicely decorated a while ago, facilities could benefit from a touch up. One thing to beware, as the street is at the bottom of a Valley, there’s literary no mobile phone service. The hotel’s own WiFi isn’t strong enough to reach the upstairs bedrooms. Expect to be cut off from the outside world.
We had a 2 night stay here and would highly recommend a visit, the staff were friendly and helpful, the food was amazing and the room was clean and comfortable. The village was quaint.
Hambro Arms was a surprise, whilst the room was compact, it was quiet and had the most comfortable bed. We ate in the pub and had excellent food, wine and service. The two young waiting staff were an absolute credit to the establishment. Topped off with a scrum my breakfast, served by an equally polite lovely lady.
