I liked its history and the fact the the owner’s ancestors built it. The rooms are beautifully decorated in period style. The owner is friendly, helpful, a pleasure to talk to!

My wife and I had a great stay at Rockwood Manor. We knew we were arriving late, so Frank provided detailed instructions for us on how to get to the property and into our room. Enjoyed a great homemade breakfast together with other guests in the morning.

Staying at Rockwood Manor is a wonderful experience. We have been there twice and have fully enjoyed the stay. The rooms are clean, the food is great and the company is terrific. Christie cooks a wonderful breakfast and Frank adds to the ambiance with the pleasure of his company! Not to mention you are in a civil war historical plantation! The grounds are beautiful and it is a very peaceful and relaxing time. Will definitely stay there again!

Victorian Charm with Southern Hospitality

Overall a great experience. The room was large and beautifully furnished with antiques. The owner Frank was a fixture at breakfast and offered tips on local sites as well as the history of the manor. We’ll definitely return for a visit when we head back to Va Tech to visit our daughter.

This property is gorgeous! Frank met us at the door and we were checked in in no time. Our room was huge and had everything we needed. Unfortunately we had to leave before breakfast was served at 9 a.m., but if we're ever back in this area we would definitely stay here again. Lots of common areas and a beautiful wraparound porch from which to enjoy a pretty sunset or an early morning cup of coffee.

We loved our stay. The house is beautiful and the owners thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. Chrissy made us an excellent breakfast! It is out in the country side and so peaceful. We saw a deer walk right by the house as we enjoyed our wine on the front porch rocking chairs. It was the highlight of our vacation. My husband especially enjoyed the architecture of this historic house.

Beautiful home with incredible architecture and a warm and welcome country vibe. You can tell the hosts love this home and property and want to share it with all guests and visitors. Could not rate everything excellent as we missed breakfast because we were on a tight schedule, but I would assume it would be wonderful. Only dislike was the bed pillows, seemed at the end of their usefulness, not too fluffy, our room was very elegant and comfortable.
