We knew the hotel was under refurbishment when we booked so the restaurant would be closed, this wasn’t an issue for us as we were not arriving until 7pm and we had to check in at the airport at 4am.
What we didn’t expect was for there to be no hot water!
On arrival we wanted a shower and was told the water just needed to run through.
It was clear there was an issue so the young lady in reception called through to the manager. Apparently they had had a plumber out and the water tank had been emptied and refilled at 3pm. They expected water to be hot after a few hours. We tried the water again at 9.30 and it was still freezing.
As we had to be at the airport by 4am we got up extra early to grab a shower and the water was still freezing!
On checking out of the hotel, the young man explained that the water was broken for the whole side of hotel we were in and we would receive some sort of refund. Had we been alerted it was only our side of hotel, we would have requested or at the very least expected a move to different room
The hotel is now not responding to Expedia who we booked through. They also had my address and have not contacted.
Appalling service from the hotel. This hotel is in a prime position and would have been perfect for anyone wanting an overnight stay before a flight but give the service from management, this would be the last hotel I would recommend.
For the record, I am expecting a full refund and will not be letting the matter drop
