"Hotel Biffy is a beautiful property. The rooms are nice. The staff are professionaly, courteous, helpful and most speak English. On the flip side, Hotel Biffy is primarily a function venue. I stayed for 8 nights. Of those, there were events 4 of the 8 nights. 2 went well past midnight. 2 went until 2AM. There is no soundproofing for the rooms. "We booked a room, showed up before checkin time and they were not operating yet for the season. Mistakes happen, so we weren’t too upset as we found a nearby room at Hotel Portobello . The groundskeeper told us to get a refund thru Expedia. Expedia contacted the hotel, the hotel denied our refund. They said we didn’t cancel within the cancelation time frame?? This place is such a scam. I do not recommend unless you want to risk losing your money. "

"This hotel was not my first choice. It was the only place with accommodation during the period of my visit. Expedia and the hotel web site state check-in is at or after 4:30PM.
