Clean rooms with excellent room service. Internet often did not work and staff could only recommend that I wait for it to improve. Mattresses were very thin and it sometimes hurt to feel the bed springs. Location is very convenient to the U-Bahn.

The staff were, without exception, welcoming, approachable and helpful throughout my stay - and remarkably fluent in English. My room was thoroughly cleaned each day. The furnishings were basic but included everything necessary, apart possible from a glass tumbler. Despite seeming to have a large number of guests, I experienced complete quietness during the night. The hotel does face onto a busy road but my impression is that few of the bedrooms are on that side of the building. The dining room was open from 6.30am during the working week and from 7am at weekends and, I seem to remember, it was open for four hours on each occasion. Perhaps because of the extended opening times there was never any crushes during breakfast. It has as good a range and quantity of food as in many more expensive hotels. The hotel is in an excellent position for travelling in Berlin. Ten minutes walk from Acama hotel, in one direction, takes you to Hallesches Tor U-bahn which allows access to all parts of the city; while ten minutes in the opposite direction takes you to Meckernbrucke U-bahn which, along with an airport shuttle bus, gives direct access to Berlin Brandenburg airport. But frankly if you are moderately fit and not accompanied by children it is possible to walk to most of the main tourist attractions in central Berlin, from Acama. All-in-all I was delighted with my choice of accommodation and Acama hotel will certainly be my first choice for accommodation next time in Berlin.

Ich habe nur eine Nacht übernachtet. Man hat mir ein 6er statt einem Einzelzimmer gegeben, aber das war in Ordnung. Das Zimmer war sauber und ruhig. Selbst die Bauarbeiten auf meinem Stockwerk hat man nicht gehört.

Vorzeitige Abreise ohne tatsächliche Übernachtung Die Unterkunft entspricht vom Typ her einem in die Jahre gekommenen Hostel und nicht dem eines Hotels. Empfang war freundlich, Verkehrsanbindung ist gut. Leider bemerkte ich beim Zubettgehen schon kurz nach erstem (Sitz-)Kontakt auf der Bettkante ein vermutlich von der - im Übrigen sehr dünnen und unmittelbar auf den Lattenrost darunter durchschlagenden - Matratze aufsteigendes fürchterliches Kribbeln, was mich trotz des Angebots der Rezeption, ein anderes Zimmer zu probieren, zur Abreise ohne Übernachtung in diesem Hotel veranlasste. Ich zog es vor, die Nacht in einem anderen Hotel "ohne Experimente" zu verbringen - schließlich wollte ich den kommenden Tag in Berlin genußvoll und ohne Beeinträchtigungen verbringen. Das acama-Hotel würde ich nie wieder buchen, auch wegen der Hellhörigkeit zum Hinterhof (Zi. 121). Die Rückzahlung der von mir kurz zuvor entrichteten Berliner Übernachtungssteuer war bei Abreise vor Ort trotz nicht erfolgter Übernachtung leider ebf. nicht möglich.
