"Great choice in the area to explore both sides of the border. It is much cheaper to stay in Germany than Switzerland. A ten minute walk to the Rheinfelden train station on the Swiss side where you can access all of Switzerland. Breakfast is very good, room is up to date and clean. Staff is friendly and attentive. Elevator is tiny! Several grocery stores nearby. Would like it better if the room to had a fridge. I've stayed here twice and would happily do so again."

"This is a really nice hotel situated a 5 minute downhill walk from the train station and about ten minute slow walk from the centre of town. Staff were friendly, bedroom and all public areas were immaculately presented and its well situated for a twenty minute walk to the Feldschollsen brewery where you can go on a brewery tour. I will definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends travelling through Basel as it is an easy 18minute train drive."

"Great basic accommodation. Everything you need is here as regards clean, maintained rooms, breakfast and easy access. It’s unusual that at no point is there any interaction with the staff here although contact is available if required. Check in is done via a computer in the entrance. My room was serviced during the day while I was out and a reasonable food selection is available for breakfast. There is even a free coffee machine. Other drinks are available via an honesty box. "Wir kamen nach einer Anreise von 800 km an einem Donnerstag um 16 h an. Die Rezeption war nicht besetzt. Unser Schlüssel lag auf dem Desk. Daneben eine Liste, ob wir morgens frühstücken wollten. Es war eine Zwischenübernachtung. Am nächsten Tag hatten wir noch 600 km vor uns. Wir wollten nur das Auto parken, Abendessen und Schlafen. "Not a clean hotel. It was OK. Only thing good was the river view. When you open the window, you have nice river flowing."

"750 years old building, recently renovated and made a hotel. Great view, free parking. Prepare to carry your luggage’s thru stairs at the entrance. My room (single) was quite small. No nearby places within walking distance. Many areas are kept as original so wood floors in hallway are noisy."

"A fantastic hotel. Rooms were spacious and clean. Shower was excellent, plenty of power and hot water. Wifi was fast. The food in the restaurant was some of the best food I have had in 28 years of visiting Germany. Breakfast was good, excellent coffee. Staff and owner were so friendly and prices were a real bargain. Will want to stay here whenever I am in the area."

"The only negative was that other guest’s dog lefy 2 piles of geces in the corridet. Someone tried to remove it but left 2 significant feces smears on the carpet. We immediately notified front desk receptionist. Then next morning we told the housekeeper who was aware. The smears remained for our entire visit until our last morning when we submitted complaints to reception director again, it was finally cleaned at the time of our departure. Good value for money

"Good location near the train station and with three different tram lines easily accessible. The room was clean and modern, nice shower, toilet in the “cupboard” a bit claustrophobic. Room is quite small, not made for a lot of luggage. The hotel is perfect for a short stay for a night before heading to the train station or the airport (airport bus leaves from just outside the train station)."

"Loved this stay. The breakfast buffet is amazing and the staff was very informative about restaurant and helpful in making reservations. Bonus, the tram runs right by the hotel and in addition to flavored water in the lobby there was a small selection of Haribo gummies, so yummy!"
