Great hotel, close to everything so made it super easy to walk Bergen for the couple of days we were there. The room was ready early and was clean. They were also very accommodating for a late checkout to help us have more time before heading to the ports to board our ship. Also, the breakfast was so good!!

The hotel was right next to the main harbour ’ Bryggen’ centre. We were able to walk from tho hotel to the Fenicular Railway, The Harbour, The railway station and the city, plus lots of Bergen attractions. The hotel itself was ok. What made our experience staying with Thon Hotel Bergen was the staff. From the initial check in and all through our stay the staff friendliness and helpfulness was quite amazing and made our stay very enjoyable. For this reason and its closeness to the town centre and harbour I would give the hotel 5/5 and recommend you give it consideration should you be going to Bergen.

The room was great! Booked a balcony room and would have been wonderful, however it was a little cold and rainy to enjoy during our stay. Breakfast was outstanding! Restaurant in the hotel was disappointing. Have to order at the counter and take a number for food to be delivered to you. Seemed self service to us. Would have had more drinks. But no one checked on us after delivery of the food. The prices were the same as a restaurant with service. If we wanted counter service, we could have gone to McDonald’s.

The location was good but the view from the room was terrible. We were looking into people’s private or rented units. Also breakfast room was very claustrophobic. Not quite on par with Thon near the station in Oslo.

The decoration in this hotel is startling but effective. It' worth stay just to look at: brightly coloured hallways and walls with striking wallpaper. The rooms are large. You can stream your own content to the room tv which is useful as there's only one English channel (Sky News). Good location. Not the closest to the tourist spots but handy for transportation (airport bus, light rail, coastal ferry). Good breakfast buffet but not the best in Bergen (see my other review to discover which one is).

Good breakfast buffet, larger shower than many hotels. Right on plaza, easy to walk or bus to sites. Plaza can be a bit noisy, but windows keep out the sound pretty well.
