"We had a great stay. I wasn’t sure what to expect from Hotel Playa Bejuco - I was a little worried it would feel like a touristy budget beach hotel. It actually feels more like a rustic lodge than a giant, modern hotel. In a good way! There are ~20 rooms total and they all surround a central courtyard with a pool. "The Marala Hotel was a beautiful location, with a lovely pool and great service from very helpful staff members. The food was tasty and they had enough suitable vegetarian options. The rooms were comfortable, and clean. It is quite close to the main road, so you can hear some traffic especially large trucks, but it didn’t really affect our overall experience. "I came to have a relaxing weekend to myself to work on some projects and it was perfect. I loved looking at the beach while getting some work done. So much nature. The breakfast was good, I liked the tico breakfast best. I came early and still received my room before the listed time. The hot tub in the room was nice. The only thing was the shower was not always hot. Sometimes I had to wait an hour or two for hot water. Enjoyed this place and would come back "
