While the staff were friendly and welcoming unfortunately they were understaffed on our visit and our meal took several hours to complete! And when it did arrive they had obviously been sat under heating lamps. The breakfast was poor quality. The rooms were good value for the money and clean although an interesting wallpaper technique. We’d asked for a room fairly close to the restaurant and ended up as far away as possible and had to go outside to get to and from the restaurant. We could only see one disabled parking space and that was farthest away from the entrance. I would suggest that at least half of the spaces at the top car park should be designated as such. We have previously enjoyed our stays at this hotel but sadly we won’t be returning. Our best wishes to the staff.

Very nice and well maintained pub. Bedroom and all the public rooms spotlessly clean. Very cold night, and the bedroom radiator was inadequate, only Luke warm, however I asked for additional heating and was given a fan heater straight away. Had an evening meal which was nothing special but adequate , also the dining area (bar) is very noisy even though the decor is modern and pleasant. Breakfast was pretty good , not an enormous choice but okay. I would have liked a cafeteria rather than being served with a cup of coffee. With a few tweaks this place would get five stars, as it is I’d give it four overall.

The hotel was lovely, the staff were brilliant and the food was very good. There could have been a bit more choice for breakfast and the sausages could have been of better quality, but the cost was only £8.50 if not included. The only thing letting it down was the rooms, they've had a recent refurb and are pretty and the beds are very comfortable. but the rooms were cold and took some warming up, due to the bathrooms not having any heating at all, and the lack of another bedside table and sockets to charge phones and there are no sockets near the mirror. Iron and ironing board, in the wardrobe which is a nice touch, but no hairdrier, but i had brought my own. I would stay again, but id be sure to bring a trailing socket, & maybe a fan heater in winter.

No hair dryer in room - have to go to reception. No Shampoo or body wash in shower, just hand wash and one tiny soap Need to have tea and coffee freely available at breakfast, you have to wait for someone to come and ask and we were missed so received it when we had finished.

I have stayed st the OST in the past and there was a dedicated dining room for breakfast on the ground floor in 2017 . at that time you had a proper service a cup and saucer for coffee or tea now its a mug. A full English cooked breakfast was provided hash browns black pudding mushrooms fresh tomato with sausages bacon beans and pop up toasters were used . now on offer is sausages beans bacon and tinned tomatoes . The other items not ! There used to be a choice of scrambled eggs or poached eggs not anymore. Jam and marmalade were in single portions on the table but now these in open dishes. Everyone can help themselves it is unhygienic. There were menus on the table at that time but not anymore. You go in to the dining room and work it out for yourself. I didn’t want a fry up I asked for a boiled egg or scrambled or poached these were refused. There were no yoghurts it was a sham. I was told there were beans on toast and reception abruptly informed me the breakfast was complimentary! No GF food or choices The hotel is dog friendly this must be new because there were never any animals in the dining room on my previous 2 visits in 2017. I understand many people have dogs but I don’t think they should be by the table with their owners at meal times and I had to step over a dog several times . The breakfast room is in the bar area and more tables have been added it is packed to the gills. You used to get table cloths for dinner but not now. The room was cold unclean
