"Beautiful old hotel. Restaurant meals were great & reasonably priced. My room was large, bed comfortable, hugh bathroom with bathtub & separate shower. Only issue was the hum from aircon unit outside my window, but after a wine, or two, this was no problem. But if you are a light sleeper request a room away from street & external aircon units. Will stay again as it really is a special place."

"The room was large, clean, and comfortable. Everything worked as expected. Check in and check out were both quick and efficient. Walkable access to restaurants, shops, and transport. Good sustainability practices. Would definitely stay again. "

"Enjoyed my stay at Colonial Motor Inn, villa was very clean and has 2 bathrooms and 2 tv's.The Manager gave us an upgrade on arrival, so thanks alot. The pool was clean and nicely heated, overall its a relaxing place to stay with an hasske free check in and check out. 5 stars.clean"

"Stayed here for 3 nights with my husband and 2 teenagers. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our King size bed was comfortable but there were bunks for our kids that weren’t so comfortable, maybe I should have asked for 2 single beds. Found the location great with access to Sovereign hill via a separate entrance, so can come and go during the day you visit Sovereign Hill. "I regulary travel to race and stay at variois accomodation but this accomodation was trully up there with more costly establishments. Clean, comfy bed and excellent linen and very friendly host. Wish for more places like this."

"Excellent location, walking distance to the city centre. The room was comfortable but needs updating Beds were comfortable, except the pillows were a bit flat and no extra ones were in the room, not a big deal in the whole skeem of things. Value for money though. It does need a good make over but you get what you pay for. I would stay there again. "
